Summer Midcore Kickball in Everett Thursdays

In the second game of this very windy evening it was Code Blue squaring off against Challengers. After having a tough game last week in a lopsided loss, Challengers were all business right out of the gate on this one eventhough seemingly half their team entered the game injured. Thursday the Challengers decided to return the favor and notched a decisive 14-1 victory over Code Blue! In this great victory for Challengers no player was gutting it out more than Joelyne Barich who not only got on base nearly every single time she was up, but also came on to pinch run the entire game for her injured teammate. Now that's a lot of running! Joelyne took full advantage of some awesome bunts to get on base, placing them in such a way that the defense didn't even bother to throw towards first because she was already there! Congrats to Challengers on a great victory and to Joelyne Barich - Player Of The Week!!!

What's more fun than Underdog Kickball? How about Underdog Kickball in the rain & mud!!! As The Ballers took to the field against the Challengers some of The Ballers' players half-joked that they might get their first win of the season by virtue of playing in the rain . . and how right they turned out to be! Not only did The Ballers come out and establish themselves as one of the best foul-weather playing teams, they did it in a decisive 13-1 victory over the Challengers! Amy Collins of The Ballers was Player of the Game with her great 3-for-3 performance from the plate. She also had several spectacular defensive catches and the game's signature play when she made a great heads up play dodging a defensive throw and scoring on the play! Congrats to The Ballers for a great victory and to Amy Collins - Player Of The Week!!!

Finally a perfectly beautiful day for kickball in Everett with no wind! Amazing! It was Whammy Time facing off against The Ballers in the last game of the evening. The Ballers were looking for their 3rd consecutive victory while Whammy Time was playing for potential playoff seeding advantage. Whammy Time came out of the batter's box running and never looked back while racking up an amazing 20-2 victory. By far the biggest exclamation point on this victory was the huge grand slam shot by Jason Rogers of Whammy Time. His big boot put the game permanently out of reach and made a statement heading into the upcoming playoffs! Congrats to Jason Rogers, Player Of The Week!
