Players of the Week

Feb 13 - Feb 28

Clare Sode

Thursday Night Sets

You'd swear it was a Sunday morning fundraiser with the number of pancakes Clare was serving up!! The all out hustle to keep the play alive sent a wave of energy to Thursday Night Sets. Jumping up from her first pancake, Clare expertly placed an attack down the line AND THEN, went back to serve a few zingers that brought her team closer to the win.

Rhona Seng

Can you dig it?

In every game, it is always important to make room for sportsmanship. Rhona of Can You Dig It? rose to this occasion. Regardless of the outcome of every point, she continued to cheer and be a positive influence on the court. Besides being a positive team member, she demonstrated great digging skills in the back row. For remaining humble and simply expressing joy for playing the game, Rhona is our player of the week. Congratulations!

travis dever

Flossy con Saucy

In case you didn't know, Flossy con Saucy started out as a soccer team, and expanded their recreational sports competition lives with volleyball this season. As a team they have grown so much, and this week Travis lead his team! Improvement is obvious on this team, but this week Travis had some stellar blocks, and crazy hits. It's impossible to tell this is his first season!

Ben Nakamura

The M's

Ben played amazing tonight! He had some awesome serves and epic sets! He was an awesome team player and was always upbeat and ready to play! Can't wait to watch the teams play again next week!

Candice Hillman

Poop Sandwich

Communication and perseverance are qualities that make for good leadership and can galvanize a team to victory. Candice of Poop Sandwich is the player of the week who illustrated these important elements of leadership, who with clear communication and a resilient dedication to her teammates pushed forward to a successful win. Candice's overall enthusiasm on the court, mirrored with her impressive communicative and physical skills, is what makes her performance special. Congrats on being our player of the week, Candice!

David Noble

Sloppy Sets

Dave is a true team player. While Sloppy sets is the true sense of vollball newbies, they have no shortage of heart and determination. They also have an awesome attitude to go with it. While they are still learning the bumps, sets and serves. Dave and the sloppy sets will do anything to make sure everyone is having a good time. They will even help out other teams and players when their night goes awry. Great work Dave and Sloppy sets keep up the good work!

Kang Suh

Rough Sets

Anyone watching the championship match between Rough Sets and Hot Sets might've wondered, "Is that a bird? Is that a plane?" But no, it was Kang Suh of Rough Sets! Kang displayed an amazingly high level of agility while playing. He seemed to be everywhere and play any position needed. His vertical was definitely the most impressive, allowing him to score multiple kills throughout the match. It takes a lot to consistently play at a high intensity level, especially in a championship match, but Kang did it. For his outstanding display of volleyball skills, Kang Suh is our player of the week. Congratulations!

Joel Godwin

Thursday Night Sets

WOW! That word is, effectively, the only way to describe Joel G's performance. Joel of Thursday Night Sets exhibited phenomenal strength when he sent high-flying serves over the net with force. He proved to be confident on the service line, and channeled that power throughout the night, scoring his team big points with his fiery aces. The gusto of his serving form paralleled the power he exhibited on several of his attacks as well. For stunning everyone with his potent skills, Joel is our player of the week. Congratulations !

Cooper Brenneman

Teamy McTeamface

When the going gets tough, the tough gets going. That was the mentality of Cooper from Teamy McTeamface, whose utter brilliance at the net during the game's most crucial moments helped solidify a stunning victory. It was a close match with We're Only Here For The T-shirts, but ultimately the electrifying dominance of Cooper's blocks and attacks matched with the resilience of his teammates allowed them a spectacular win. For his diligent performance, Cooper is our player of the week.

Rosie Meyer

A Team Has No Name - Indy #V6

Brace yourselves, a player of the week nomination is coming. When you're friend group's willingness is stark, but you want to play volleyball - signing up for an Indy team is the horse to hitch your cart to. Ain't no shame in it! It takes no training to be on A Team Has No Name, just a willingness to play hard, no matter how impenetrable the other team's wall at the net is. Rosie encaptulated the Underdog spirit and was anything but a witch to her newest teammate! Welcoming her into the fold and getting her up to speed on the game plan. Rosie was a natural leader and her communication, positive spirit, and all out effort every week cannot be over thrown. We see A Team Has No Name growing strong each week, thanks to Rosie!
