Players of the Week

Nov 28 - Dec 12

Sophia Siao

The Volley Llamas

No matter how intense the competition, there should always be room for sportsmanship in any game. Sophia Siao of The Volley Llamas repeatedly showed an outstanding attitude, even when she was watching from the sidelines. Her positivity on and off the court is wonderful and worthy of recognition. Even when her team won, she was also showing support for the players on the other team. Sophia perfectly embodied the Underdog spirit with her attitude. For increasing the fun had by all, Sophia is our Player of the Week. Congratulations!

A Beast at the Net

Net Tips and Chill - Jesse P

Jesse and his team turned out for a nail-biting match on Thursday night. Jesse stood out during game 1 when he sent his first warning shot sailing across the net towards the back wall of the gym. Before long, Jesse was putting down balls from back row, front row, and forbidding the opposing team's hits from crossing the net. With an even distribution of sets from their captain, Jesse and his teammates left the gym victorious. For his spectacular net play, Jesse is this week's player of the week! Nice work!

Francisco Luna

Vollipops

Despite his team not playing til 7:30, Francisco showed up to the 6:30 game in case anyone needed a sub or fill-in. While the teams were staffed, he still help me put the net up and offered to play music for the 6:30 players. Thanks, Paco!

Setting up the team for success!

When it comes to setting, timing is everything, or rather, punctuality. Sarah had a fantastic night on Tuesday placing the ball just where it needed to be for her teammates to obliterate the point. While she played it cool and casual on the court, her competitiveness revealed itself when she got the chance to fly in the air, soar towards the ball, and send it smashing into the opponent's court. For her fantastic all-around play, Sarah is this week's player of the week! Great work!

Zack Nicol Has The Kill!

A force at the net.

Zack Nicol's arms outstretched the top of the net and were ready to block any attack that came his way. His height and strength gave him the advantage and his skill made him a beast at the net! While his team was on the attack, they set him up perfectly to make his approach and let loose his killer swing! He had some impressive force and ultimately helped his team take the match!

Erica Paulson

Kiss My Ace

Erica Paulson of Kiss My Ace showed up ready to play some hard volleyball on Monday night, and WOW did she deliver! Her net play was on point all night! From major kills to big blocks, there was nothing that Erica couldn't do while up front. One of her best moments was when she managed to hit what was the perfect spike down the line for a kill. It was a beautiful moment for all present. For Erica's stupendously outstanding display of skill, she is our player of the week. Congratulations!

Kelly Jones and her Team Soar!

Fly Me to Maroon

Kelly and Fly me to Maroon had a tough match on Thursday night but they didn't blink an eye. With steady leadership and deep floater serves Kelly guided their team towards a big W, disappointing their opponents. Nice work Kelly!

Joy to the Indys

No matter how intense the competition, there should always be room for sportsmanship in any game. Joy repeatedly stepped up, even when the following game's players didn't show up in time, she offered to hang back and play. Joy reallys embodied the Underdog spirit with her attitude. For increasing the fun had by all, Joy is our Player of the Week. Congratulations!

Joey Lights Up the Court with Aces

Squad goals put up a tough fight on Tuesday night against Baby Got Back(sets). Joey led the team with not only killer serves and bullseye passing but with non-stop laughter and positive energy. Although his team was just shy of a win, Joey and Squad Goals deserves this week's player of the week for their determination and positivity! Great work all around!

Fred Westenberg: Born Star

Making the impossible, possible.

When the ball looked as if it was going to drop to the floor in empty space, out of no where, Fred got under it and helped win the point!
