Players of the Week

Dec 17 - Jan 21

Katie Solan

sports?

Sports? started out week 2 very strong. Ending the evening 3-0, this team is showing signs of technical progress. Focusing on skill development is an essential component to player development. Notably, Katie took the lead and provided clear instruction and gave tips to her team throughout the night. What stood out was Katie's ability to share her knowledge in a way that was positive and easy to follow. Demonstrating the Underdog spirit, Katie not only helped her teammates develop their skills - but grow into a cohesive unit. Keep up the good work, Katie & Sports? !

Trevor White

Volley Llamas

Trevor showed up ready and excited to play this opening night. He was hustling left and right to keep any ball from hitting the ground, many times sacrificing his body by diving. He showed some great skill up at the net as well, getting sick blocks and stellar kills.

Brigit Miller

Attack Pack

Tuesday night Brigit definitely helped her pack attack! Her sensational sets helped her team, Attack Pack, come out ahead with a 3-0 victory against rival Mariners. When she wasn’t setting up her team for a win, Brigit had some amazing hits of her own as well!

Spirit, sets, success!

WePlay

On Monday night, Tristen Mills of team Weplay helped score her team a victory! After a rough first set, Tristen helped to rally her team’s spirits and take the game, assisting with some sensational sets and even spikes!

Austin Biehl

Only thing missing... the START button

Never in my life... did I think I would witness the personification of the Konami Code! I know Seattle is a tech town - but this was just TOO MUCH!! Everyone in the gym, on both sides of the net, was left cheering for Austin after his all-out effort during one particularly extended play - kept alive, largely, through his effort. Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Start Jump, jump, dig, dive, slide, slide, save, save, block, attack, MANIA Attack Pack's very own Austin earned this week's Player of the Week nod through his INSANE hustle, consistent energy, constant support for others, and all-around Underdog excellence. Much like a tornado, Austin played with power, grace, covered ground, and had the ability to keep the unthinkable from hitting the ground.

Jamie Ann

High Flying First Night!

What a night! The second match-up on this opening night at First Baptist proved to be great competition between two brand new teams, and one very awesome Indy team that just met. Leading the way for the Indys was Jamie Ann, who quite literally was flying through mid-air diving to save balls. This wasn't just a one time occurrence either, she never hesitated to sacrifice her body to keep the ball alive for her team. Returning to the game after a knee injury, Jamie Ann is back, and ready to play. Congrats on a great first night Jamie, and welcome back!

Bjorn Christophersen

Bump, Spike, Hit It Into the Wall

Bjorn came ready to play on this championship night! He was getting up at the net with strong blocks, powerful hits, and was hustling to get every ball he could. Even when the team was down a few scores he celebrated each point, keeping spirits up and helping Bump, Spike, Hit It Into the Wall claw their way back to a semifinal victory. He continued his diving and hustling into the finals ensuring an exciting championship matchup.

Julia Donovan

Indy #V62

Julia gets the well rounded award for the night, bringing a wonderfully positive attitude to Wednesday night volleyball along with consistent serves, saves, and hits. Even when her team was down, Julia kept the team's spirits up and played solid volleyball, always at the ready!

Clay Waters

Green lake ballers

Clay’s volleyball skills were on fire in his game tonight! Not only did he manage to ace his opponents on multiple occasions, but he also made a number of fantastic back row hits. In the front row, Clay brought out the thunder, and smacked down multiple kills. He even fooled his opponents with some tricky saves, including the Knuckle Kill: a kill he earned for knuckle-punching the ball into the opponent’s back corner! Time and time again, Clay proved to be a major x-factor for his team, rightfully earning him player of the week. Congratulations, Clay!

Sophia from Volley Llamas is our player of the week!

The Volley Llamas's captain Sophia is our player of the week!

Sophia led Volley Llamas to victory tonight during our final championships! She stayed cool and encouraged the team along without sacrificing great sportmanship. Thanks for showing underdog spirit tonight Sophia!
