Players of the Week

Mar 4 - Mar 24

Elizabeth Resendez

All About That Ace

Playoffs night one kicked off with double headers for a bunch of teams, including All About That Ace. Their players were hitting their hardest in the front row, and the defender of the back row was Elizabeth! She stood out over others by saving the ball numerous times and keeping it in play. Her serve receive was also incredible - she passed nearly every ball directly to the setter. You can’t have a productive offense without a locked-in defense. Elizabeth was just what All About That Ace needed. Congratulations to our player of the week!

Nanhua Jin

Indy #V12

This Monday Nanhua got right into the swing of things on opening night... literally! Nanhua had some amazing swings and kills in his very first Underdog game! He also stepped up as team captain and did a great job unifying his brand new team! Watch out for Nanhua on the Indy team this season!

Derek Crafton

Empire Spikes Back

Derek Crafton of Empire Spikes Back was PHENOMENAL on the court. His passing? On point. Setting? Stupendous. Hitting? Full of so much HEAT! There was nothing he couldn't do! He even came in clutch at the end of the night by helping retrieve a stuck ball in the ceiling divider. For all of his hard work, Derek is our player of the week. Congratulations!

Miles Wittmeier

Andrew and Friends

Miles of Andrew and Friends brought some great opening day spirit tonight! When he wasn't on the court killing it, he was on the sidelines cheering his team on with enthusiasm! Not only did Miles show encouragement for his own team, he displayed support for the opposing team as well! Great spirited sportsmanship, Miles!

Danielle Palmer

Spike Place Market - Indy #V6

My favorite part about playing with and being an Underdog Field Admin is getting to meet and interact with so many wonderful players - from all walks of life. Volleyball is what brings us together every Tuesday at Seattle Central - a once a week micro-community or oasis filled with old friends and new. Start up a conversation with anyone you meet, and you have no idea where it will lead! Shout out to this week's Player of the Week Danielle, from Spike Place Market! Not only is Danielle dynamic on the court - hustling and encouraging her teammates - but she is someone who is invested in the Underdog community and experience. Thank you so much for the feedback AND for all the travel tips you shared. We can't wait to have you back next season!!

Juliesia Nicholson

Kiss My Ace - Indy #V9

Underdog is a small community that comes together around sports. Sometimes players join our community with established teams and sometimes they venture out solo, joining an Indy team. A shout out to Juliesia from Kiss My Ace (formerly Indy 9) for being a unifying voice on her team, commitment to showing up, and her inclusive nature.  It was awesome to see you so easily blend teams (THANK YOU to the players who volunteered to sub into a second match) and to give helpful guidance to those around you. We are so happy to have you be a part of Underdog!

Brinlee Finzel

Spaghetti Rumble

Tonight Brinlee led her team, Spaghetti Rumble to not only beat team Bump, Set, Smoosh, but pushed her team all the way to the number one spot in championships! When she wasn't digging, setting, and killing the ball on the court, Brinlee was on her team's sideline, cheering for her team with an unmatched energy! Congrats to champs Spaghetti Rumble, and nice job Brinlee!

Mohit Kewalramani

Championship Extraordinaire!

Tonight, Mohit played for both of his teams, Mediocres and Finish Them, leading them both to the final championships playoffs! Mohit gave it his all on the court, and had many skillful blocks and impressive hits, leading both of his teams to victory! Nice job, Mohit, you're a champ!

Megan's First Kill

Night Court Celebrates a First

After rushing from one league to another, Night Court started this Spring League in a dramatic fashion. For evidence, check out their team photo. Midway through the 2nd game, a beautiful set crosses the court with Megan's eyes on the attack. She takes off with a swinging arm and smashes the kill with accuracy, gaining the point she knew was hers. Night Court crowded around her cheering with glee. Why you ask? Because that was Megan's FIRST kill. Ever. You never forget your first. And neither will we. Congratulations Megan!

Katelyn Bristow

Bump, Set, Awesome!

This was a great night for the team Bump, Set, Oh Shit! They showed up pumped, and ready to take on the reigning champs, the Volley Llamas. Led by the awesomeness that is Katelyn Bristow, this first year team kept the champs on their toes throughout the match. Aside form being a stellar volleyball player, Katelyn exudes a love for the game that is rarely seen, and this shows most clearly in the way she encourages her teammates and fights for every play. When the night was over, smiles remained, and that is what is most important. Thanks Katelyn for your spirit, and for being such a fabulous Underdog!
