Players of the Week

Nov 4 - Nov 17

Caleb Gorton

Incredibles - Indy #V56

Caleb’s hitting was on fire in his game tonight. He was turning heads with his incredibly high vertical and extremely powerful hits that echo when they hit the gym floor. He definitely put his best arm forward tonight and made some jaw-dropping kills. Caleb proved to be a major asset for his team tonight, as they played their toughest game all season. For his outstanding playing this week, Caleb is our player of the week! Congratulations!

Matt is our player of the week!

Take Initiative

Matt from Take Initative showed true Underdog spirit this week! Not only was he encouraging his own teammmates and the opposing team, he showed amazing sportsmanship behind his team with giving an extra serve tothe other team as a warm u and calling on his own play violations. Also, Matt has amazing energy and spirit on the court all around. Shout out to Matt!

Sai Naidu

the McGonaGALLS

The final game of the season calls for all of your best assets! Sai whipped out some sweet dance moves this week, while showing off his sick jump serves! When the GALS needed someone to ace a serve or celebrate a big point, Sai was always there. He provided the fun and the funk. For being a major x-factor and for having some of the best dance moves, Sai is our player of the week! Congratulations!

Deana Jirak

Volley Moon's

Deana was a superstar in her game tonight! Not only did Deana bring a cheer squad, but she brought custom ‘Volley Moon’s’ (patent pending [maybe]) T-shirts for her team! She never failed to check up on her team to make sure their spirits were high and they were pumped for every play. Deana was the glue keeping everyone together, leading her team to victory. On to semifinals! For her super sportsmanship and for outfitting her team with some awesome swag, Deana is our player of the week!

Sean, Captain of Best Set, is our player of the week!

Sean, Captain of Best Set, is our player of the week!

Sean, captain of Best Sets I've ever Had, is player of the week! He led his team excellently through two games on their first day of their league. He helped carry out exciting plays and kept his team's energy high all night. Thanks for your Underdog spirit Sean!

Zane the Flying Squirrel Strikes Again

I'd Hit That

Zane is back for another round of crazy dives, stupendous spikes, and unstoppable blocks. His team was on fire tonight, and Zane kept the sparks going. He exceeded in communicating with his teammates to make the best play. He knew just where to hit the ball, and just where to tip it. For returning with more fire, more skill, and more squirreliness, Zane is our player of the week!

Katherine Rice

The Fireballers

Katherine was a serious star player this week. She played in two tough games tonight and was a key passer in both of them. Though she was not as tall as her teammates, she definitely had the best passes! She also had an undeniable drive to save the ball at all costs. Often times Katherine would make one incredible dive, jump back up, and dive again a second later for another save. For her stupendous endurance and for being a reliable teammate this week, Katherine is our player of the week! Congratulations!

Marilyn The star of the show

Bump Thugs 'n' Harmony

Marilyn not only has a fabulous attitute but her grace and energy on the court is obvious. Her sets and serving took center stage tonight as the bump thugs n harmony took all three games for the ultimate show!

Kathryn Stadeli

Sweet Moves!

In a usually quiet First Baptist gym, the sounds of the greatest hits of the 2000s could be heard echoing along side the sounds of killer hits and epic blocks. To accompany this era of great music were the undoubtedly legit dance moves provided by Kathryn on Ball Blockers. Her spirit and willingness to dance added great fun to the night, and it doesn't hurt that her team ended the night with a 2-1 victory in their match against the new kids on the block, WePlay. Both teams played great and in true Underdog style, were able to have fun and play great Volleyball at the same time. Thanks for bringing the sweet moves Kathryn. Congrats!

Chris Kirk

Flying High!

Big shout out to Chris of Digs Out for Harambe who might just have the sweetest jump serve in the history of jump serves. His toss is precise, the connection strong, and all at an angle that makes his serves nearly impossible to return. The crew from Digs Out had a great match against We're One in a Melon, with killer rallies that challenged these teams to step up and play some epic games of Underdog Volleyball! In the end, Digs Out took home the W on a game winning serve delivered by none other than the jump serve master Chris Kirk.
