Brendon Meyer
Single and looking for a Ball
This week, Brendon brought the perfect mix of attitude and skill to his kickball game at Cascade Playfields. Of particular note, Brendon made all of our jaws drop when he efficiently gunned down a runner who was advancing to second after an erroneous throw to first. But beyond his routinely excellent play, Brendon was calm and in good spirits the entire game. When kickball games get heated and competitive (because they do that for some reason), it is always nice to have cool heads like Brendon on the field. For all the above reasons, Brendon is our player of the week.

Julia Wright
The Closer
This week, Julia was a little late to the game -- which ended up working to her advantage! Immediately upon arrival, Julia was thrust into the pitching role by her team, and without any fuss she admirably took the mound. When her team was up to bat in the next half-inning, Julia filled in without a hitch. She proceeded to close out her game from the pitcher position, guiding her team to victory. For her on-the-spot heroics, Julia is our player of the week.

Daniel McDonagh
Balls Deep in the Outfield
Daniel M wins this week's Player of the Week award for tremendous defense and kicking the walk off winner in the bottom of the last. It was his only time on base as he had numerous deep fly outs, but he kept his head up and made some great defensive plays in the outfield. When his team needed him the most, tied in the bottom of the last, he belted a deep blast to left that easily scored the winner. Congrats!
Player of the Week is for Chad Hersey of the Single and looking for a Ball kickball team. Chad was nominated and won this week for Player of the Game in his team's win against the Ball Hogs.
A great pitching performance and good vibes from the spectators helped propel Single and looking for a ball towards victory. Look for this team to be at the top of the league and especially watch out for our Player of the Week Chad H.

Reid C. - POTW
Mithun Manatees
Reid's amazing defense at first base helped the Mithun Manatees win their first game of the season. Reid was all over the place diving for the ball, starting two double plays. He also had the catch of the day, making a fingertip grab for the 3rd out of an inning.

April Bockstruck Gets Injured And Plays On
Single and looking for a Ball Standout Player of the Week
Two very close games this week at Cascade playfield. Single and looking for a Ball started out the best way, by doing what they know best. Big kicks and timely defensive plays cleared the way and beat a good Redfin team that came to play. April Bockstruck stood out on this day because, while an injury set her back a bit, April kept making defensive plays at 1st base and had timely hits that propelled her team to victory. Hats off to April Bockstruck, as she is Player of the Week.

Meaghan Beaulaurier
A great contribution paving the way to a win!
Balls Deep in the Outfield played a great game throughout the seven innings on Thursday, but was lead by a steady contribution from Meaghan Beaulaurier. In the game Meghan had two RBI's as an offensive powerhouse and had two great plays at the plate to show how good she was on defense as well! On one of the plays at home plate, Meaghan jammed a finger, but played through it and really showed how tough she was. With this performance Meaghan is our player of the week!

Sarah Pitler Ends Regular Season In Style
Single and looking for a Ball Player Leads Team
In their last regular season game, Single and looking for a Ball won a tight matchup against the Amazeballs 4-3. After the game, Sarah Pitler was unanimously given the title 'Player of the Game' (POTG) by her teammates. Whom could argue? Sarah had a solid three hits/bunts and showcased some of the finest kickball defensive plays this season. Having a solid player like Sarah contribute so much helped Single and looking for a Ball win the game! Therefore, Sarah Pitler is not only POTG, but also Player of the Week!

Zach Oligschlaeger Wins
My Other Foot is in My Pants Pitcher Wins Game
Zach O. had a unique version of defense and pitching this week- including a "flop play or dive" and acting as a Pitcher and Catcher and Short Stop all in one. Zach was easily the most tired player at the end of this matchup, in which, My Other Foot is in My Pants won by a score of 12-3. Another reason to be exhausted after the game was Zach O.'s inside-the-park homerun. It took two or three overthrows/errors, but Zach circled the bases and scored. So, with pitching and defense and hits Zach is Player of the Week. Good win to close out the regular season.
Brendon Meyer is a true competitor and showed outstanding sportsmanship this week. The guy kicks as hard as the best of them, constantly smashing deep doubles and triples allowing a myriad of runs around the bases. His power is duly noted by opposing teams and often outfielders were told to move back when Meyer steps up to the plate. He also showed great effort and hustle while playing defensively at first, always giving his best effort on foulballs, pop flys and catches at first. His competitive nature, however, does not interfere with his outstanding sportsmanship and good attitude on the field.
Mikkel showed great leadership qualities on his team, whether it was getting the team fired up before the game or making great plays in the field. He did an excellent job pitching, always giving the batter a fair chance, as well as fielding his position. He made some great peg outs during the game along with some nice feeds to first base. Kurian is also a force to be reckoned with at the plate and showed great power and hustle around the bases.
Single and looking for a Ball Win Championship with Help of Karrah Rust
What a day for Single and Looking for a Ball! They won a close match in the semi-finals against Amazeballs and went on to win the championship against Balls Deep in the Outfield!! The team spirit was high and there were great plays for both teams that created a memorable 2015 playoff. With a score of 7-5 in the playoff championship game, Single and Looking for a Ball prevailed with close wins in their double-header. It took a mighty performance to beat out Amazeballs in the semi-finals, in which, Karrah Rust was voted as MVP and Player of the Game by her teammates. More than that, in the close championship game Karrah helped her team win the big one. For winning a play-in game and then winning the championship and being MVP Karrah Rust is our Player of the Week and championship MVP! Congrats to Single and Looking for a Ball on this season's 2015 championship win! Great job!
