The final four teams in the Thusday night volleyball league at Golden Gardens all desperately wanted a shot at the championship title. Both semi-final games were nail biters. On one court, Gobshites matched up against Whatchoo Talkin Bout Willis who was a person down. After dropping the first game, Whatchoo Talkin Bout Willis rallied to win the next two and earned a spot in the championship game. The other semi-final matchup was equally as exciting with Cobra Kai edging out Sets on the Beach in 3 games to get to the finals. In the 3rd and 4th place game Gobshites regrouped to place 3rd overall beating Sets on the Beach. In the championship game, Whatchoo Talkin Bout Willis, still a person short, used the killer combination of hustle and heart to triumph over the emotionally exhausted team of Cobrai Kai to be crowned Underdog Champs. Congratulations to all the teams for a fun and competitive summer!!
