Summer Softcore Kickball in Fremont Mondays/Tuesdays

This week at BF Day Park, Kevin was the undoubted leader of his team. With an infectious smile and a great attitude all day, Kevin made tons of people laugh and made sure everyone had a great time. For leading his team, Kevin is our Player of the Week. Congratulations!

If this were soccer they would call him "The Leg" because he could probably kick the entire length of the field and score. At least that is what it looked like with his kicking performance today. He started the game with a grand slam and would follow it up with another homer. In total he kicked in 9 runs which was over half of the teams total runs. It was an absolute spectacular performance.

Bryanna was one of the most talented and away kickballers I have seen in some time. While she was a modest 1 for 3 at the plate, her defensive wizardry reminded some of a major leaguer who was appropriately nick-named the wizard himself. Displaying Ozzie Smith type skills at Short Stop, Bryanna was definitely a stand-out performer. She made play after play to get her team out of some tough jams throughout the night.

Jodie had a great day at the park today. She played great defense in the field and also had a good day offensively. She had threw hits on her second game and scored a couple runs. There was a play at the plate that she made a great slide in but was called out. She disagreed with the call but did it very respectfully and calmly. Jodie's team won both games today which is very hard to do and she was a big reason why.

Colleen's endurance is incredible! While rounding a slippery 3rd base, she took a hard fall and sustained a bruise for her speedy efforts. Another player may have perhaps taken themself out of the game, but not Colleen! She finished the game, recording an out on a rocket hard liner that nailed her right in her bruise .... and held on! For being tough as nails, Colleen is our POTW. Nice!

Danny was a fire plug with his game as well as his voice. He didn't allow the banter between him and the umpire to knock him off his game. Danny was a force at the plate and in the field. He made a heads up play at 3rd to throw out a runner who would have been the go ahead run in the top of the 6th inning. following up that play in the bottom of the 6th inning, Danny scored the game winning run with aggressive base running after roping a single earlier in the inning. Clinging to a 1 run lead, Danny made the final put out to secure the playoff victory.
