Ground Rule Trouble wins in dramatic fashion!
In the last game of the day it was Ground Rule Trouble squaring off against Hitmen and it was a nail biter! This game had five lead changes in 7 innings of play with both sides flashing the leather on defense and showing some pop at the plate. In the end Ground Rule Trouble went into the bottom of the 7th inning down by 1 run, but the timely hitting by Scott Marti proved to be the difference as he drove in 2 runs to give Ground Rule Trouble the walk-off victory 13-12! What a great start to the season. Congratulations to Ground Rule Trouble on the dramatic win and to Scott Marti the opening day's Player Of The Week!!!

Graham Lee
Ground Rule Trouble
What a "Cruz-esk" performance! Graham earns this week's Player of the Week by going 5-5 with 7 RBI as his team, Ground Rule Trouble, won big against the Arbornauts 17-8 in another classic battle between these veteran teams. GRT had to come back early, allowing 6 runs in the first inning, and poured it on in the middle innings as Graham launched a base-clearing triple in the 6th run 4th inning to put them ahead for good. Congrats Graham!

Thigh Power powers it's way to a nice win!
Although we were all expecting rain throughout Sunday, the only storm happening at Paramount Playfields was the vortex at 3rd base for Thigh Power. Joe Bray was an absolute nightmare to the opposing batters as he accounted for better than half of the outs in this game! Line drive? No problem. Bloop single? No chance. Hard grounder? Sorry, but nope. He also hit a home run and a triple before the other team decided that they had seen enough of Joe and decided to just walk him. Congratulations to Thigh Power on an impressive 13-4 victory and to Joe Bray for earning Player of the Week!!

Peter Reni
The Big Cats
Going 4-5 with all extra base hits, Peter Reni earns player of the week. If the ball did not go out of play so quickly Peter would have had at least 3 HRs, his power at the plate dictated the pace of play in the 27-7 rout of the SkoFlo Mofos.

Hermes Adrada Leads Power Charge
The Arbornauts are back to their winning ways again. Behind the plate power and precision of Hermes, they knocked off a very tough team with some very strong hitting and very aggressive base running. This team always excites and they always play their butts off, everyone and its awesome to see. Hermes batted 4 for 5 with 2 deep bases clearing bombs that included a bases cleaning Grand Slam to boot. He was amazing from the mound not giving up very much and confusing batters all day long with his high arching pitches. Great win for the Arbornauts and great performance from Hermes.

Peter Remi Powers The Charge
It was a really long day for the Big Cats. With a few hours in between games and with the sun bearing down from above this team sucked it up played extremely hard all day long and completed a day for the ages. In two fierce battles they managed to score 31 runs with shear defense, hot batting and aggressive base running not to mention high energy despite the heat. Led by Peter Remi they dominated for most of the day and sent a loud and clear message to the rest of the league that they are for real and will definitely contend for a championship. Peter Remi won the first game with a 1 out HR with 2 on to complete a grueling come from behind win. On the day he batted 8 for 10 with 3 HRs, 3 triples, 2 doubles and 2 singles. He also batted in 10 runs and scored 6 runs. Great day for the Big Cats and great day for Peter Remi.

Thigh Power Earns First League Title
Thigh Power Earns First League Title
Total Team Effort Huge In Win
Well the dust has cleared and we have a brand new league champ. Thigh Power was absolutely dominant in their run to the title and all teams they faced really had no answer fore their power, their aggressiveness and their hustle and it showed. I can't single out any one individual for any single performances because it was a total team effort all day long and in the end they established their dominance and did not waiver. If this team stays together and plays in future USL leagues, they will continue to dominate any and all teams whether they have been in the league for 1 year or 10 years. This team is scary good, they are fun to watch, their fundamentals are incredible and they all feed off of each other and play inspired. It was fun watching them dominate all day long. From Tina to Sebi to Frankie and on down the line this team is awesome. Great season and congratulations on your first league title.
