Andrew Moon
New Kicks on the Block
Trailing most of the game, New Kicks on the Block needed something special down the stretch and that's when Andrew came through the most. Bottom of the 6th, trailing by 3 runs, New Kicks tied the game and then Andrew came up to kick.
It was a huge blast to left and over the fielder's head for an apparent homerun--but since the ball was kicked well in front of the plate, Andrew had to reload. Which he did and did well. This time a blast to right field off the hands and over the head of the defender for a second homer back to back [although only one counted] giving his team the lead which they would hold onto for a great opening day 1-run victory.
One Kick Wonders walks off in bottom 7th to victory!
Clutch sac fly is the difference
What a way to end it! After being down 4-0 to the Ball Kickers, One-Kick-Wonders scored the final 5 runs of the game and snatched victory from the jaws of defeat to win in walk-off fashion. Matt R started the rally off with a booming inside-the-park-homerun to right field, then made a couple of awesome defensive plays to help keep his team in it. Adam C started the final rally in the bottom of the 7th by putting it all on the line, extending a routine single into a double and capping it off with a sweet slide to avoid a cannon from the left fielder. After a sweet bunt by captain Hadley, Graeme T lifted a ball to right field that scored the winning run in dramatic fashion. Congrats to One Kick Wonders!
On Sunday, Dana proved her prowess as an elite kickball player. With the bases loaded and two out, a bunt would be an ill-advisable call due to the potential for the inning to end on a force out at home. Fully cognizant of this, Dana booted the ball right into the gap between second base and the outfield, scoring three of the runners on base. For her situational expertise and awareness, Dana is our player of the week.
Jeremy was out of action the past few weeks from a broken collar bone. He chanced the game on a cold foot and unpracticed hands. Jeremy quickly regained his stride making enough catches that the opposing team singled him out as the one place not to kick! Even after being labeled Jeremy continued to make catches, fast plays, and dealt blows kicking at the plate. Well done and speedy recovery Jeremy.
In a close match where every run counts one player stood out. Christian put words to foot as he made it on bace every at bat and tacked up two doubles. His leadership and strength of foot kept his team alive through a tuff battle.

Laura Hedal Hightailed It
Rumrunners lead runner
With Three games under her belt in three hours Laura proved to have the determination and stamina of a champion. She played First base in three games and made sure no one could get past her. But wait there is more. she also did great at the plate hitting a double that put two in scoring position and claiming the lead and the game. Not to mention her dead foot accuracy hitting two foul balls in a row strait into the dugout!
This week, Elliot displayed exemplary sportsmanship and an attitude that made everyone playing in his game have exponentially more fun. Despite being down for most of the game, Elliot joked lightheartedly and kept his team in good spirits. This referee doubled over laughing more than once thanks to his humor. In addition, Elliot was the shining athlete on his squad, making a number of impressive catches in the outfield. For his uplifting demeanor and consistent effort, Elliot is our player of the week.
The Little Lebowski stay safe with Adam in the outfield
Adam played two hard games in right field making sure nothing went over his head. The hope in others dwindled as they saw Adam poise for a catch. No matter fair or foul, deep or shallow Adam ensured no runners would make it to base if the ball came to him.
