How on Earth did she catch that?
Kick Tease
In her game on Tuesday, Emily Senff made a strong case for the Gold Glove award with her remarkable first base play. Emily showed off elite range while playing first, making plays consistently throughout the game. She even made an over the shoulder grab halfway between first and second that caught the entire field's attention. After that catch, the other team could not help but comment "She started that play on the bag, how in the world did she get there?" Because she captivated the entire field with her playmaking ability, Emily is our player of the week.
Anthony had a superb offensive game on Thursday night. In his first at-bat, he slammed the ball over the outfielder's head to give his team an instant 3-0 lead. He followed that with another 3 run blast in the 3rd. He finished his 8 RBI performance with a ball that hit the top of the left field fence almost leaving the yard, but he still came around to score on his 3rd HR of the game. Remember to back up when Anthony comes to the plate.

Georgie "Spiderman" Mathews
Balls Deep
Georgie was the epitome of a good sportsman on Tuesday. Whilst playing at Denny Park, a player on Saints fouled a ball beyond the fence, almost into the street. Unprompted, Georgie hopped the fence and grabbed the ball, then hustled back onto the field. In what can only be called a stroke of poetic justice, Georgie caught the inning-ending fly ball on the very next play. For his teamsmanship and fence-scaling heroics, Georgie is our player of the week.

Philly Hoshko
Kick Tease
It takes heart to be a kickball player and Philly showed exactly that tonight. With her team up a few runs, Philly took the wide turn around third and headed for home. In what was destined to be a close play, Philly made the perfect slide to get under the tag. Unfortunately, she twisted her ankle in the process. The amazing thing about that play was Philly scored what would ultimately be the game winning run! Great hustle Philly, way to leave it all on the field!

Luke Thevenet
Saints
Luke crushed a 2 run bomb over the right field fence to jump start a late exciting come-from-behind victory to earn Player of the Week honors in helping his Saints defeat the Recess Renegades 9-5 in a rematch of last season's extra-inning thriller between the two teams. Nice job Luke!

Peter Marsh
Kick Tease
Although his team lost a heartbreaker in the bottom of the last inning, it was hard to not honor Peter for his awe-inspiring performance. Peter went 7-7, kicking for the cycle and adding in an extra triple and extra double, driving in 9 runs overall and earning this week's Player of the Week!
Paul was key in the big victory for the Saints. He started it with a 3-run HR deep to right center field, then added a few more big kicks to give him 6 RBI's for the game. He also scored 3 runs himself, accounting for half of his teams total scoring. As pitcher, he overcame a couple errant throws past first base but eventually dialed it in, picking off runners at will. Paul also turned a great double play ending a big rally for Pitch Please! in the 7th inning. Nice game Paul!

Alannah Jessen
Saints
The sun was shining bright, and no one was shining more on the kickball diamond than Alannah. She made 5 outstanding catches on tough fly-balls in right field and had a fantastic attitude throughout. When told her team could no longer bunt, Alannah issued a sigh of relief, stating "Watch out Outfield!" before crushing a double in the later innings. Great work in earning this week's Player of the Week Alannah!
This is an unusual player of the week recognition as the player recognized did nothing and I mean nothing productive to help his team win. But he may have been the best sport of them all while most players that go 0 - 4 and commit two errors (Expecially a player who obviously has athletic talent) would be a bear to deal with. But not Eric! He was energized, smiling and encouraging not only his team mates but also the opponent. He didn't take himself too seriously but mean while gave maximum effort despite his failings. I definitely expect a bounce back performance from Eric in his next game and wouldn't be surprised if her turns in the game of his life!!!

Lindsey McKay
Saints
This was a day filled with great plays being made in the field, but none more impressive than the plays made by Lindsey. She set the tone on the very first play of her game when she promptly pounced on a beautifully bunted ball just in front of the plate and seamlessly relayed the ball to her pitcher who was able to throw the speedy runner out at first. She was also able to produce at the plate on the night. But what was most impressive was her ability to flirt with every player from the opposing team and dance after every out made. Just imagine if Lindsey would have had more than "ONE" drink prior to the game!!!
Not only did Peter grind out a well played game on a bum ankle, he managed to put a ring on it as he got engaged and most beneficial to his team, umpire and all observers was that he brought a grill for roasting chicken, mushroom and pineapples to share for all. You can't any more valuable than that!!! Thanks, Peter!
Recess Renegades held on to their lead in a very close game. They held together despite the near 8 run comeback over 2 innings from Move Pitch, get out the way! The team showed great resilience and is without question our team of the week! It also didn't hurt that they helped the ref set up the field. Thanks for the great week and performance Recess Renegades!
Talk about double duty! With her team playing the bare minimum and backup no where in sight, Jenn F. stepped up big time for her team in the championship game! Usually, playing catcher isn't the most strenuous of tasks, but when you're caring for a 5-month old at the same time, that's where it gets difficult! From feeding the baby one play to kicking well-placed bunts to first base the next, Jenn really did it all, including a couple nice bunts on the offensive side. Way to multi-task Jenn!
