Summer Co-ed Softball at Maplewood Sundays

In a game that saw the lead change every half inning for five innings in a row, it was Chauncey's Grand slam that made the difference. What a batter.

In two games, Jody Gile may have set a USL record. Jody went 11 for 11, including six for six in the second game of Grand Salami's doubleheader. On a scorching day, nobody was hotter than Jody. Her hot bat led Grand Salami to victories by the score of 19-4 and 31-10.

POTW! is and under statment for this weeks player of the week! we all know we had a very hot weekend and field conditions were not the best,very dusty,dry and HOT! (just trying to paint a picture) It was the last games of the day and "grand salami" vs "Seattle metro CU" POTW: Vida Janson from seattle metro! Her first at bat she grounded out to short, now this is where it gets intresting, second at bat she got a base hit over the short stops head. in the 4th inning she was coming out of the dugout to lead of the top of the 4th when she was hit in the mouth by a over throw from the infield(at first it didnt look good) after she put some ice on it and found out she was ok she told me she wants to hit! so on her 3rd time up(with an ice cube in here mouth!) she cruched the first pitch OVER the left fielders head! TRIPLE!. Vida ended up going 4-5 at the plate, she also had a very good game behind the plate! good job vida!

This is a first . . . we have 3 players of the week due to an incredible triple play pulled off by Progressively Drunk!!! Casey Rice, Brad Rice and Kristin Cordova pulled off the big One - Two -Three. Casey made an great break on a ball which looked to be getting down for at least a long single, if not extra bases, so Goat Rodeo's base runners take off . . . not so fast. Casey makes a great catch on the run and proptly fires the ball over to his brother Brad at first base for the force out. Brad then turns and fires a bullet to home plate where Kristin is in perfect position and puts the tag on the runner trying to score. What can you say but "Wow!" . . . . ?
