POTW: Kiris Koontz
Captain Drunkard and the Scurvy Dogs
Kiris Koontz aka Captain Drunkard earned her namesake Thursday night as she caroused and rabble roused her way to Player of The Week status. In between beers, she whooped it up, and argued fervently with league officials on issues such as league rules and the innerworkings of the entire USL corporate structure. At one point she even bowled the mythical "Negative Turkey"- three consecutive scoreless frames despite the best efforts of the bowler- an event as rare and beautiful as the site of Hailey's Comet in the night sky.

POTW: Jan Zimmerly
Jan's Crew
Call it a Rookie of The Year award. Jan Zimmerly may have still been wet behind the ears in regards to the ins and outs of an Underdog League, but when she assembled a team of six enthusiastic bowlers in the six hours before the Thursday night league started, showed up first, AND had a great time, she showed some true Underdog grit, and her potential to be a seasoned vet. Congrats Jan. Now if only we can find a name for your team.

Theme Night - Grab Your Most Ridiculous Lid
POTW: Megan
POTW: Megan
KEXP Static 3
POTW honors this week go to Megan a.k.a. "Lord Of The Dance" from KEXP Static 3 team. The KEXP folks are no strangers to Funland, and Megan got the party started early with the dance quota: if you hit a spare you must dance, if you hit a strike you must make your team dance. And dance they did.
Also, if you threw a gutterball, you had to lose a finger. We thought that was a little extreme, but hey, what do we know about radio?

POTW: Melissa Collett
POTW: Melissa Collett
KEXP Static 2
This week's POTW honors go to Melissa "The Intimidator" Collett, and let us tell you, it was a long time coming. Melissa's got the pep in her step every week; she hustles to organize her team, she cheerleads, she makes suggestions about who looks like a good POTW (not this week). She is curious about rules, regulations, statistics, Underdog innerworkings, and has in fact challenged us to a ping pong death match in our corporate headquarters. If her team wins, they get some Underdog shirts, if ours wins, we get to program KEXP's music for a day. That's fair, right? Right? Hello?

POTW: Trisha Mills
POTW: Trisha Mills
Murph and the Magic Tones
Trisha "Sandee The Magnificent" Mills is this week's POTW. Style, grace, and several consecutive spares gives her the leg up on the competition. She's kinda like Audrey Hepburn in that movie she made about bowling. You know the one, right? It was like "Bowling at Something..." Ah, it's right on the tip of my tongue! Well anyway, it was awesome... uh, like Trisha.

POTW: Jennifer Lefaive
Polish My Balls
Everyone likes a winner, but everyone LOVES an Underdog. While it's traditional practice to give the MVP (or POTW to you out there at home) to someone on the winning team in a Championship games, what kind of underdog league would we be if we did that? Truth is Jen Lefaive was en fuego Thursday night. She wanted that championship so bad she could taste it. Or maybe that was the Redhook she kept winning. Still, she gave as noble an effort as you can give in a losing cause, bowling a 162 in the semis, and a 181 in the death match. Sorry Jen, better luck next season. Have a beer on us. Oh wait, we already gave you all our coupons.
