Mean Green- Indy #2, No Glove No Love, Olde 99, That's What She Said
Eric Leitzinger
St. Johns
Eric L. and his squad St. Johns started the season off going up against The Merge in a battle that went 8 innings. The game displayed lots of great defense by both teams along with unplayable bombs hit by both squads. Both teams displayed mid-season form play, but it was Eric's play that was the difference maker in the game. Eric pitched a gem while lobbing the ball hitting corners and using the whole arc of the strike-zone, making the batters work to get a good pitch. Eric's offensive output was the deciding factor in the game, as he started the game with a homer, and ended the game with a homer. Going into extra innings it was Eric's 2 run shot that broke the tie and put his team in the winning column starting the season 1 and 0. Great game Eric in a exciting game kicking off the new season1

Liz Guyman
Indy #2
Liz is playing for the INDY team and she is a valuable asset to that team. It was a close game and it became tied up at one point. That was until Liz stepped up to the plate and hit a huge 3 run hr. She smashed it into the gab. She also had a few great grabs as well to help seal the game. Congrats Liz.

Don't Come On My Base
Ladies of the Team
Tonights players of the week go to the Ladies of Don't Come On My Base. In this rare occasion that only a select few players get Team of the Week, but it was an easy choice. The ladies of the squad knocked the ball around hitting deep balls that accumulated 3 home-runs and a bulk of the teams RBI's. On defense the ladies racked up numerous outs with great catches in the outfield as well as great plays in the infield. Even the female catchers were ready for action making plays on fouls and dribblers into the infield. With this outstanding performance, it was Ladies Night at Bobby Morris field. Great game to the whole team of Don't Come On My Base, especially to the ladies who carried the team!

Christine Harder
Smack My Pitch Up!
It was cold and it was threatening to snow. Are we sure this was Spring Softball. This night the most common play was a light grounder to the infield. Christine had other thoughts though. She smacked a Hr., a triple and a double. The cold air didnt effect her at all. She ahd a great night!!!

Eugene Gray
That's What She Said
This weeks player of the week goes to Eugene G. for his outstanding play and 2nnd base. Eugene was like a hoover vacum not letting a single ball get by him on the carpet at 2nd. With Eugene's excellent defense the opponent struggled to get in runs and Eugene helped his squad with his defense and solid 4 for 4 bat that knocked in key runs in the game. Geat game Eugene!

Ali Dewing inspires team to victory!
St. Johns
Thursday's night final game turned out to be a competitive and rain-soaked affair, in which St. Johns was able to hold off Smack My Pitch Up! to win 23-16. The night had been dry for the most part but as soon as these two teams took the field at Bobby Morris the heavens decided to open up. These sloppy conditions however didn't stop either team from making great defensive plays all night long! Ali Dewing of St. Johns stood out specifically not only for her play but toughness as well! After playing a great first few innings with some crucial hits and great defense Ali took a liner right off the leg while standing on first. Being the all star that she is, neither the liner nor impending bruise phased her as she continued to inspire and cheer for St. Johns as they were able to hold off several late rally attempts from St. Johns. For her work Ali is this week's player of the week. Nice job Ali and St. Johns!
