Marco Ng was the biggest story of Opening Day at Denny Park on Tuesday. The Kick Me Thru The Phone pitcher showed why he is one of the best with a dominant performance on the mound. Marco didn't allow a runner past first base for the first 5 innings. He would have notched a shutout, if it weren't for some defensive miscues behind him in the 6th inning. His performance helped lead his squad to an easy 7-2 victory, and a spot in a top the standings to start the year.

DS-RISKY
Comeback Kids
Congrats to DS-Risky for a great first week and learning from some early stumbles in game 1 of their double header! They put up 2 runs in the 1st inning of their second game and never looked back, tacking on runs in the 3rd and 4th innings. They turned 2 clutch double plays to end the 5th inning and get the first 2 out of the final inning.
Derek Brown put on a truly impressive performance on Thursday, contributing on both sides of the ball. He drove on several runs and turned in one sterling running catch in the outfield. His played helped lead his team to comfortable 7-1 victory.

Adam Froelich
VSP Ballers
Adam was an unstoppable force on both sides of the ball and literally from the first pitch to the final out. For starters, as lead off in the top of the 1st, he kicked the first pitch of the game over the LF fence for a solo HR. Then for finishers, Adam took the relay throw at first and ran home to tag out the would-be winning run just feet from the plate preserving the tie. In between he was making every play at first base, with a huge solo DP in the 4th and a rally killing line-drive catch in the 5th. He was a monster when beaning runners, but only dudes--he was quite the 'gentle' man when it came to getting the ladies out. Just a complete and dominating performance all around and a well deserved POTW
With the game close in the 5th inning Adam came up to kick and hit a giant home run to right field. The ball cleared the fence and then jumped over the road. Great Job Adam!

Tyler Zaiontz
DS-RISKY
Tyler overcame some wet and messy field conditions to lead DS-RISKY to the win this week. In addition to making many put outs and double plays at first base, he also contributed mightily on the offensive side. He knocked in what would be the game-winning run on a three run inside the park home run. In the top of the 7th with his team up by one, Tyler started the inning with a triple that almost turned into a home run. He came across the plate for an insurance run on the next play and started an inning that saw DS-RISKY put the game out of reach!
Make an amazing catch down the first base line ... run and tag 1st ... run the ball over to third ... that’s how you turn a triple play to preserve the 5-5 tie. Nice work adam
Drew was the impetus behind Sit on my Base's breakout third inning. Sit on my Base came into the inning down by a run and after the first two runners reached base safely, Drew came up to bat with the ability to help tie the game or even take the lead. Drew took the first pitch he saw and gave it a powerful kick. The resulting ball bounced off the top of the left field fence before heading over and onto 9th Ave N. Drew's three run shot put Sit on my Base up by two and started a rally where another three crossed the plate to take an insurmountable lead in the game. Great job Drew!
Jim brought his big boy boots to the field and kicked the heck out of the ball all night long. He started with a 2 run double in the 2nd to put DS-Risky up 3 runs in the opening game of the playoffs. Jim followed that with an RKI triple and run scored in the 4th then a single and run scored in the 6th - coming just a HR away from kicking for the cycle. He also played great D in center field with multiple catches and a big DP to end a potential 3rd inning rally by Kicking Assets. It was a complete performance in leading his team to a big playoff victory!
In a game that was a defensive struggle at first DS-Risky was able to grind out the win. The offense started off a little slow, but then came to life in the middle of the game. In the later innings it was Ryan Claypool who kicked a big homerun to add an extra insurance run on to DS-Risky's two run lead that they already had. This combined with his great defensive play has earned Ryan Player of the Week.
