Notes

First Place

Fall Midcore Volleyball at First Baptist Mondays

Po'okela came into this league looking like the early favorite due to their multidimensional team. Po'okela does not depend on one single player, they all know their roles and are great inside of the system that they run. Every piece of this team has its importance and would not sustain if one player was taken out. A true team victory!

In the championship bout against Poop Sandwich, Po'okela was up against another amazing team. After splitting the first two sets, Po'okela dug their feet in the ground and started to make their push. If defense wins championships, then Po'okela should never lose again because their defense came up big. They covered the whole court while making great rotations to cover one another. With a defense like that and an offense that can hang with anyone in our league, Po'okela should be our new Underdog dynasty!

Great job on the championship victory!!!

Chuck Halvorson

Po'okela

Congrats Chuck! For Player of the Week goes to you good sir! Chuck played all out this week, smashing set after set and putting up a monstrous block. Sure there may be a slight vertical advantage at play here but it's all backed up by awesome skill. Some people say "you can't teach tall," implying either that you can learn skills at any height, or that sometimes tall people are pretty uncoordinated, I can't quite remember. It doesn't matter though as none of that is a problem for Chuck. He makes the clutch play nearly every time. He's definitely one of Po'okela's not so secret weapons but they're all amazing and always play as a team which is fun for anyone to watch. Keep it up guys! And congrats Chuck!!
