First Place

Spring Big Turkey Bowling at Sunset Thursdays 9:30pm

As Big Turkey Bowlers begin to learn the limitations of a game with one ball and ten pins, they begin to seek out new and creative ways to gain subtle advantages in their quest for greatness. The Bowling Stones had been planning their revenge on rivals Thursday Night Lights since their loss to them in the first round playoff game last season. The Stones hatched a devilish plot in the final game of the regular season: invite their nemeses over for a "friendly" barbecue before the playoffs and ply them with (too much) alchohol, in order to tip the scales in their favor. However, the potential rematch was quashed as the plan backfired, the Bowling Stones themselves getting perhaps a bit too soused, and altering the makeup of the playoffs. Indeed, what a tangled web we weave.

The Lights struggled to find their groove early on, but as they proved in their undefeated season, their second best can still beat many teams' first best, and they still managed a strong victory over first time playoff contenders I Can't Believe It's Not Gutter.

Meanwhile, as the Bowling Stones struggled to find their game (and their car keys), the Gutter Sluts took advantage and found their way into the championship, led by Dave, a last minute injury sub for team captain Kevin. Would Dave prove to be the Tom Brady of their team?

It looked possible as the two titans battled back and forth, at times within only a few pins of each other. However, the Lights showed the true grit, the moxy, that already earned them one championship, and proved that you can't keep a good Light down... er, off. They pulled away towards the end, with team captain Travis Milberger sealing the victory with a Turkey in the 10th frame, an identical finish to their previous championship win.

Congratulations to Thursday Night Lights- Back to Back BTB Champs!

POTW: Travis Milberger

Thursday Night Lights

No surprises here, as Travis Milberger proved again why his team are champions and why he is the captain of said team. Travis started a little slow last night, but as we all know, in bowling- or hell, in ANYTHING- it's not how you start; it's how you finish. Travis knows how to put some nails in some coffins. Duplicating his previous championship game performance Travis finished with a turkey in the tenth for a score of 203, with his team all the while hooting, hollering, and pounding tabletops behind him. Travis' debut solo album "Turkey in the Tenth" is in stores now.

POTW: Evan Jones

Thursday Night Lights

The champs are back, and they wanted to send a message to the other teams- you can't mess with Thursday Night Lights. Evan "White Chocolate Thunder" Jones, obliterated everything in his path, like a tornado filled with sharp gardening equipment. His absolutely horrific, disgusting capped games of 236 and 248 were tops in the league, and brought an unending combination of pain and shame to his opponents. Indeed, Evan, POTW again, but at what price- victory?
