When the playoffs come around, and the stakes get higher tough (Scrappy) teams step up and deliver. This past Wednesday night, Meghan Hogan led Scrappy to a convincing 2-0 victory in the first round of the playoffs. It was a total team effort, which is usually the case with this Scrappy bunch. They move on to face another USL veteran team, the Monkey Lovers, next week in what promises to be a great game.
This past Wednesday at opening night of the Late Spring Alki Beach Volleyball season, the weather was a variable factor to say the least. At any given moment a player could be looking into the sun with sunglasses, or fighting to keep raindrops out of their eyes. Marie Horner stepped up her game in the face of this adverse weather and led Scrappy to a 2-1 victory by not letting the elements effect her tremendous effort. Marie was an inspiration to her team and Scrappy is lucky to have her.
