Great championship game. Very difficult to pinpoint one play or one player. It took team effort to create such a close championship game. Prizes were at stake. Evil Empire won earlier on in the day and came back ready to play. New Kicks on the Block showed up and played two games back-to-back. At the end, it was New Kicks on the Block that took home the "champions" prizes. That is why we are honoring Jennifer "Jenn" Soo Hoo; team captain, team organizer, solid 3B defense, good bunter and full-kicker, not afraid to challenge rulings/calls, and talkative on the field. All these descriptions embody Jennifer, a good kickball player in general. Jennifer helped her team win two games and made one of the more incredible force outs anyone has ever seen. The play was a hot shot to third base, and instead of picking up the ball to throw out the runner moving to second, Jennifer kicked a lazy fly ball over to her teammate standing on second base. The ball was in the air, everyone gazing and watching... and waiting to see if the ball or the runner would arrive first. Epic. Just before the runner got to second, the ball came down perfectly, and was caught to put out the runner. "Jenn" shrugged the play off like that was the only way to play it- it came natural. Very big play in this close game. Thank you to everyone that played at Ballard Boys & Girls Club. Thank you and congratulations to Jennifer Soo Hoo for being this week's Player of the Week (POTW) and helping her team New Kicks on the Block win the 2015 Fall Kickball Championship at Ballard Boys & Girls Club. !!!
