Spring Softcore Volleyball at First Baptist Thursdays

All of the You Got Served players did a great job of working together to pull out a big win. One player that stood out to me with awesome net play and back row scrambling was Dustin. He pulled out all the moves and did a great job of helping his team to victory.
At the same time he provided some comedic comentary for his team that kept his team laughing and smiling. I enjoyed watching their team play tonight and look forward to a season of it.

Alan Burke, the captain of deep digs, gets the title of player of the week for giving 150% on the court and sacrificing his body like a champ. Alan, quite literally, threw himself on the court so many times to save, or attempt to save, a nose diving ball. While you may only receive a vertical shout out for your intensity,I'm sure you have plenty of bruises coming your way to remind you of all the hard work you put in to tonight!

I always enjoy finding a player of the week based off their entertainment value during the game. Tonight Ryan brought both entertainment and skill to the gym and for both of those reasons he made it to the top of my POTW list.

Ryan's most notable skill of the night were his lazer like serves. They zoomed just across the top of the net and then took a nose dive toward the floor. Towards the end of the night he then switched it to his rainbow that came complete with a wooooooo sound effect from it's sender. He induced laughter and played a great roll in helping his team win.

He just keeps flopping and flopping and flopping and....

Tonight was Brandon's night on the volleyball court. He mastered the one armed flail with a wonderful flop to go with that racked up many points for his team. One time he even watched the ball go behind his back and then sent it back over the net before it hit the floor. It was a sight to see.

On top of his snazy one armed floppy move, Brandon played a very smart game tonight. There were multiple plays where Brandon saw a hole in his opponents court and he pushed the ball to the perfect spot. While his team didn't win it all tonight, Brandon sure won the style competition of the night and should be damn proud of the points he racked up for his team.
