Big Green Ballerz, Kickin' It Old School, One Kick Wonders - Indy #1, RH2
POTW: Yosuke Miyashita
Picked Last In Gym Class
A triple play, you almost never see one. But an unassisted triple play, no way...Yosuke, in his kickball debut, pulled off an amazing defensive game that was highlighted by an unassisted triple play!
Late in the game, with runners on first and second, Mr. Miyashita makes a great catch with his fingers tips and immediately thinks of the double play. But he was so quick in his decision making, after doubling up the runner at second, he found himself within striking distance of the speedy Leny's player before he could get back to first. Heads up play Yosuke!
Jaime did not look like a rookie in her kickball debut.
Knocking base hits, pitching filthy changeups, and snagging line drives with her fingertips. Answer the phone Jaime, it's AAA ball calling...Great Game!
Picked Last In Gym Class forfeited to Dazed and Confused.

POTW: Sean Kanda
RH2
Sean's team was struggling to hang in the game, but he brought them back full force. Although they did not win, he made the other team work for it. His monstrous boot got his team two extra runs just as time was running out.
This woman is no ordinary woman, but a super woman! She sacrificed her body for some amazing plays. Sliding left and right, face all in the dirt to get to that plate! Catches all over the place and partaking in double plays on defense. Dana knows how to play some real kick ball. Nice work

POTW: Russell Muits
Big Green Ballerz
Russell was at the top of his game for both ends of a Big Green Ballerz double header. In each game, he manned SS for the Ballerz, often ranging into the outfield to make great over-the-shoulder catches. On offense, Muits impressed with his spectacular speed, getting on base and then wreaking havoc. In both games, he managed to tag up and score from second on routine fly balls.
Not only is it impressive that her team kicked some butt with a minimum of 7 players against the other team carrying a full roster, but the fact that Kristen was doing a lot of the beating. She is a strong player offensively and defensively. Every time Kristen was up to kick, her proficient bunts allowed her to advance to a base time after time. Way to go!

POTW: Chris Dokter
Stinky Fingers
Chris helped Stinky Fingers to a convincing victory on Wednesday, with stellar play on both sides of the ball. On defense, he made several nice catches at shortstop, covering ground in the outfield and infield. At the plate he supplied the Fingers with a 2 run home run en route to a 15-3 win. Additionally, his great attitude and fun demeanor helped everyone have a good time.

POTW: Brian Benner
Stinky Fingers
Brian was the unsung hero this day. After grinding out six innings of back and forth action, the game was notched 4-4.
Bases loaded, bottom of the sixth, and Brian was up. With a cool head and steady focus, he ripped a hit and drove in the winning runs. His fellow Fingers clamped down on defense and preserved the hard fought win. After the game, we found just how cool headed he was...he didn't even realize the situation he was in, nor that he'd won the game with that kick.
Great job Brian!

POTW: Jaime Navetta
Kickin' It Old School
Despite the outcome of the game, Jaime never gave up, never gave in, and always kept a smile on.
Her opponents learned early to try not to kick her direction.
No, I checked, there wasn't any pine tar on her hands, but it sure looked like it on a couple of occasions. Great defense Jaime!
Kickin' it Old School and One Kick Wonders had a great game on Monday, with the Old Schoolers taking a close 6-5 victory. The game was highlighted by good sportsmanship on both sides of the ball, exemplified by Old Schoolers rover Mal Hilscher. She played all over the field on defense and came up with some great kicks on offense. Thanks to Mal and both teams for reminding us what kickball is all about.
Kling helped lead the Big Green Ballerz to victory in their Monday quarterfinal game over Kickin' it Old School. Not only did he pitch all 7 innings, but Kling sparked the offense with his line drive kicks and smart baserunning. He put the Ballerz ahead early, scoring on a sacrifice fly and they never looked back. Congratulations to Jon and the Ballerz as they make their way into the U-District semifinals.
Miller helped the Stinky Fingers capture the U-District championship on Wednesday, driving in runners early and often in their 17-5 victory. He drove in a runner in his first kick of the night, to give his team a lead they would never relinquish. Miller also provided solid defense at first base, making several good catches and tags. Known for climbing the backstop whenever he scores a run, Miller brought the energy his team needed on Wednesday. Congratulations to John and the Stinky Fingers.
