Angry Pirates, Multiple Scorgasm - Indy #1, Pink Sox, Sons of Pitches
POTW: Jason Valalik - KIDD
Dunder Mifflin
A short week but Jason would have won it anyway! He's the player of the week for kicking 2 homeruns; 5rbi's and pitching an excellent strikeout that caught the ump so off-guard he didn't even call it. It was a great showing and we're looking to see more from Dunder Mifflin.
Playing in his first game ever, the Pirates' Clint Ditmore came through when it counted most. With a runner on in the bottom of the sixth and a tie game, Ditmore doubled home the go ahead run. Later in the inning he came around to score a crucial insurance run which led the Pirates to an 8-7 victory.
Megan set the pace for the Pink Sox. Just into the second inning, the bases were loaded. It was Megan with the enormous boot for a grand slam. Nice work, you lead the way for a 25-13 win
With a two run lead and one out in the 7th, Turner and Hoochies ended the game in spectacular fashion. The Angry Pirates had a runner on and the tying run at the plate. The kicker knocked it on the ground up the middle, but Turner and Hoochies fired to 1B for a quick out. The first baseman then made a heads up play and threw to teammate Anthony Jansen at third, where the Pirates runner had rounded the bag. Jansen whirled and threw, nailing the runner as he dove back to the bag to seal the win for Turner and Hoochies.
In Mike's debut at kickball, he delighted both teams with his fervor for the dramatic, and his icecapades-like sliding on the dirt. Described as "giddy as a school boy", Mike showed true grit his first time up, knocking a double, finished off by his trademark 'standing-up slide'.
On defense, he kicked up dust darting for the ball, but he measured a good mix of veteran style and newcomer entertainment.
Thanks for the laughs Mike!
Sara was a lean mean kickball playin machine! She advanced her players everytime she came up to kick. With crazy line drives down to third base threw everyone off gaurd. Offensively Sara was catching everything that came her way, she wasn't giving anything away! Nice job.

POTW: Jennifer Song
Multiple Scorgasm - Indy #1
Jennifer came up huge on this night.
Early in the game, she kicked in the go-ahead runs, to create an early lead.
As this nail-biter continued, Jennifer now found herself up with two runners on and late in the game.
Like a long-time veteran, Ms. Song, dropped a bomb on the LaFawnda squad, knocking in two runs and the eventual game winner. This offensive juggernaut deserves POTW honors!

POTW: Brooke Thomas
Lafawnda
Sometimes it just isn't fair. Like when a soccer player steps on to the kickball field. Brooke Thomas gave her team a big lift Tuesday when she applied her soccer know-how to our little game. First, she blooped a perfect kick that dropped right between the first baseman and right field, scoring three and giving her a stand-up triple. She spent the rest of her time as catcher fielding bunts with her feet; making direction kicks to her fielders. Next season, we'll make her use ONLY her feet. Yeah, take that footballers!
Dana had an excellent championship game. At shortstop, she snared two blazing line drives that most would have moved out of the way of. On offense, she kept the opposition off balance with a mixture of precision bunts and pinpoint line drives.
All done with a smile!
