Spring Gentlemen's Flag Football at Seattle Center Thursdays

Unlike in the professional ranks, in Underdog Sports Leagues, the best players play both sides of the ball equally well. It was never more evident then when Matt Wayman put on a display of versatility that inspired his teammates and led WOTIM to a 25-22 victory. Matt's two touchdown recieptions on offense and his interception on defense were just enough for WOTIM to sneak out with the narrow victory.

At times on Thursday night, it was difficult to tell whether it was Jason Pisarczyk or Lynn Swann making all the great catches for Talladega Knights. Jason had several key catches, including two touchdowns, in a 34-26 victory over the Silly Midgets.

After their improbable comeback victory, team captain Mohamed Talat was asked to nominate a player of the game. His immediate response was to give it to the entire team. That kind of unselfishness not only deserves recognition, but the effort of his team deserves recognition as well. CLOCKWORK pulled out a dramatic 32-28 win after coming back to take the lead three seperate times. It was the kind of stuff that inspires movies like Varsity Blues and Friday Night Lights. Congratulations to the winners.

While the name says Tim Smalls, the spirit of this Player of the Week award goes to the entire team of WOTIM. They played their hearts out and came out victorious in one of the most furious finishes in the history of Underdog Sports Leagues. Congradulations to the winners.
