Ninja Turtles, No Pants Party, Pretty Little Ponies- Indy #1, The Big Cats
Random Collision
No Signs Of Rust!
The 2013 softball season is underway and our first honors of the season go to Random Collision who earn the Team of the Week! Random Collision came to the field ready and got the bats going quick. They scored a quick 3 runs in the first, and collected more runs as they went scoring in every inning racking up 25 runs. Bill was one of many stars on the team pitching a gem, even after taking a line-drive up the middle off the knee but he responded the same inning hitting a homer. Their defense was solid as there was a great scoop at thirdbase, short almost turned a couple of double plays and the outfield never missed their cut-offs. It appears the winter break has not affected their play and they started off the season with a big win and the first of a long 2013 softball season! Great job Random Collision!

Joe E.
The Big Cats
Joe showed up to the first game of the season, proclaiming that he was the "the best shape of his life". He had spent the whole off season training, including working on his swing with a private trainer. It all paid off in the first game of the spring, as he went 4-4 with a HR and his quickness showed on defense as he was a picking machine at third.
Pretty Little Ponies are in the spot-light this week for the contributions made by the whole team. Pretty Little Ponies knocked in 27 runs on the night, scoring in every inning they batted. On defense they were able to keep the opponent at bay, with tight defense that did not give up a run in 3 different innings. With 12 players at the game everyone chipped in when it was their turn to play, and lots of great plays were made. The team is starting to gel and are going to be a tough team to beat this season. Great game Ponies, you played like stallions!!
This we honor the defensive skills of Jared N. who was a Gold Glove at short-stop. Jared played with tons of range and gunned players down with pinpoint accuracy to first. Jared finished the night with no errors and had the left side of the field on lock-down. Jared has always knocked the ball around great at the plate, but he earns this weeks player of the week for the great glove he played with on this night. Great game Jared!

Brandon Marano
Random Collision
In one of the most well played defensive games in recent Underdog history, Brandon Marano made many great plays and takes home player of the week honors. The game between Random Collision and the Ninja Turtles was back and forth all game with both pitchers going back and forth. Random Collision led 5-3 going into the sixth inning and was finally able to break the game open a little with a 5 run bottom inning. In the game Brandon hit a crucial home run as well as played a great center field. Capping his performance off with a leaping catch the seal the victory for Random Collision. Nice job Brandon!

Jenna Pedersen
Still Better Than Twilight
Jenna P. is this weeks player of the week. Jenna improved all season with the bat and it showed in the last game. Jenna came to the plate with bases loaded and her team in need of some runs, and she laid into one. Jenna hit a bomb to right field that was hit very hard and the outfielders were still chasing it when Jenna rounded the bases, and had all her RBI's waiting for her at the plate. Jenna hit the ball hard everytime, and with her next time to the plate the outfielders gave her lots of respect in the outfiled playing quite a bit deeper. Great job all season Jenna, surely there are more Home-runs in your future!!

Hannah Owings
No Pants Party
The No Pants Party cruised to an easy victory Monday with captain Hannah Owings leading the way. Hannah took her game to another level for the playoff opener and wound up with at least 2 3Bs, 1 HR and 7 RBIs. She also made a fine over the shoulder catch in left to save a couple runs. Great job Hannah!
Krista helped lead the #1 seeded Chix and Stix to victory Wednesday night with a 4-5, 4 RBI day at the plate. Krista also played a stellar left field while navigating some of the hazards that come with playing in a public park in downtown. Great job!
