Spring Co-ed Softball on Capitol Hill Saturdays

What a team! The Juicers are stacked w/talented, easy going, fun all stars. If you saw them play, you'd think they'd have been playing for years together. The way they play is comparable to the 95 Seattle Mariners. Their second baseman sucks up grounders like a vaccum cleaner and regardless if there's a person on 1st base, is ready for that double play turn. Nothing gets passed their outfielders, w/ their right fielder making leaping catches, shattering the batter's hopes and dreams. At bat, they are relentless w/the long ball. Anyone of those players could be in the 3rd or 4th slot.

In a week of close games, the match up between Thunder Buddies and the Sabey Sluggers may have been the tightest match up. The Thunder Buddies rallied in the top of the seventh to tie the game, but the lead off batter for Sabey stepped up to the plate and hit a walk off home run! The highlight of the game was by far the catch in left field by Arlene C.! On a hard liner to left that deflected off the initial outfielder, Arlene somehow had the sense to dive and catch the deflection before it hit the ground! Both teams stopped and applauded in awe. For their great d and clutch hitting the Sabey Sluggers earn team of the week honors!
