Fall Midcore Volleyball at First Baptist Wednesdays
Cassity has been hard core in the Indy volleyball scene for about a year now and every time I see him on the roster I get excited. He always has a great attitude and is willing to step up to give his opinion or back off and listen to his teammates. Having a new team each season is not easy, but Cassity makes it look like it is.
Throughout all his seasons of playing Cassity has also become a rock star on the court. Tonight he was crushing the ball in the front row and hustling all over the court in the back.
John took a page out of Marshawn Lynch's book last night as he smashed his way to victory at the net and on the back line. His jump serve was a thing of beauty, bring all kinds of points to the team. In the front row his hops had him jumping as high as his 6 foot something teammate and smashing the ball on to the other side of the court. Make it rain candy man!
The match between Shankopotamus and Doing it for a Bump was filled with diving saves, scrappy defense and domination at the net. One player that was very involved was Jay Simmons. At the net he was a blocking machine and brought the hammer with his kills. In the back court Jay was light on his feet as he dug anything he could get his hands on.
This week's player of the game goes to the entire Raptor Death Monkey Team. Despite losing to Rough Sets V, this team had the best attitudes and the most fun of the night! They fought hard against the opponent, made some killer plays and seemed like they were enjoying themselves the whole game. They were super supportive of each other and it was great fun watching them play! Good job RDM!
Kristens serves were wicked smart and wicked fast tonight. In every game she had at least one run of about 5 points. On top of that her defense was spot on which was must needed as her team was short a player tonight. She even added a little flair to her passes with some ballerina like leg kicks.
During the course of all three games tonight Os got very friendly with the back line. He served more than any other player that night and he did it well. They weren't anything too hard, but they were well placed and had a little bit of a edge to them.
Morgan is such a solid player all over the court. In the back row he constantly knows where the ball is going and gets there with plenty of time. In the front row he is like a sniper, finding every open hole on the court and nailing it. On top of all his skills he never sees' to stop encouraging his teammates with a smile on his face.
