Summer Co-ed Softball at Dahl Playfield Mondays/Wednesdays

Brandon was a big reason for his team's success this week. He pitched all seven innings and big a very good job keeping the opposing team off balance all day. Offensively he was a major catalyst for his team's success. He hit a couple balls very hard and ended the day with several hits and 5 RBI to pace his team. Brandon was also able to keep things things light with some good natured ribbing that was a big benefit to his team and kept the atmosphere light all day.

Austin had a great day on both offense and defense on Wednesday night. In the field, he vacuumed up anything that came to the left side of the infield, throwing out several quick Alcoballics runners by several steps. He didn't disappoint with the stick either, hitting a monstrous grad slam to power We Got the Runs to a 19-9 win.

Drew H wins this week's Player of the Week award for hitting for the "Stinson Cycle", which is a normal cycle with an extra triple added on. Drew started off hot, crushing a HR on the first pitch of the game, then hitting his 1st triple, a double, a single and another triple. All in all, 5 hits in a slow pitch SB game is quite the feat, but combining that with a cycle, well Drew had the game of his life.

Over the course of their double-header, Make it a Double had many standout performances. Kaisa's flashing speed and hustle was certainly one of them. She mentioned at one point being a former collegiate track runner, and it showed. Both teams who played against Make it a Double remarked on how difficult it was to retire her, given she was always so quick to the base. As her team's primary catcher, she was often in the thick of it making plays and helping out. A speedy player of the week.

Drew was a big part of First World Problems' win tonight. Anything and everything that was thrown his way at the plate he hit hard and usually for a couple RBI along the way. Drew stroked the ball all day to the tune of a 5-5 game and had 6 RBI. Drew scored 5 runs too and held down left field all game. Drew was a big reason the score was as lopsided as it was.

Matt pitched well in both games that Make it a Double played tonight. He had a strike out looking and just missed two more on pitches that were just out of the zone. Matt held his own offensively too and was a big reason for Make it a Double's success tonight. He drove in runs when they were needed and fielded his position well all night too. He was a big reason Make it a Double came out as Champions this season.
