Wim lead the way in game one of their double header with multiple home runs and crazy speed on the base paths and several more hits in games, even starting a late inning rally that fell short. Jamie is our player of the week for her SportsCenter top-10 play in the outfield. With the game tied in the 7th inning, Jamie made a running catch in the outfield that saved her team at least 2 runs. St. Johns was able to win the game on a walk-off in the bottom of the frame to take a 15-14 win.

Ben had a whale of a game tonight. He started things off with a monster 2 run home run that got the Fake News Bears off on the right foot. He brought his A game on defense as well, making a few nice scoops at first base. He followed up his first at bat with another home run. He finished the night 4/4 with 2 home runs, a double, and a single and was the catalyst to the Fake News Bears win.

The talented slugger belted 3 homers while driving in 6 runs to thwart off the late rally by their opponent the Backdoor Sliders. One teammate called his efforts "heroic" while another added "we could not have done it without him today."

Ian T was locked in for his team's double header, and it was obvious from the first at bat. Ian absolutely crushed a ball over the left fielder's head for his first home run of the night. Every time he came to bat, it seemed like he was squaring the ball up and hitting it hard. He ended the night with 4 HR and 12 RBIs. He also killed it on defense, making gold glove caliber plays all over the diamond. A great all around night from Ian!

Gretchen Gray was already having a great game when she came to bat late in the game against the Big Maples with the outcome still very much in question. She certainly helped answer that question with a huge home run. Unaware of her hitting prowess, The Maples had taken a few too many steps in, and Gretchen's blast was past the outfielders on one hop and rolling to the promised land. Gretchen never stopped running and found herself at home when the dust had cleared, with a clutch and classy home run!

There were several solid performances this evening. Several amazing defensive plays and lots of big bomb home runs. But player of the week goes to Chad Dias. Although there have been nights when he actually brought his big boy bat, tonight we celebrate Chad the man. Chad is always out there playing as hard with his body as he is with his mouth. He keeps everyone laughing and having a good time. The sad news is Chad, long time Underdog player, is moving out of state soon. On a perfect night for playoff softball, Seattle Smashed got off to a quick start, lead by the hot bat of Felipe Rangel. Felipe crushed a triple in the first to get the scoring going. Smashed held a pretty steady lead most of the game. Going into the 7th Smashed had a 12 run lead, but the was quickly cut down to 5 after 7 quick runs, but Smashed defense held on for the win. Congrats to Smashed for a big win and congrats to Quidditch for a great season.
