POTW: Peter Orr
The Larry Bernandez Sisters
Peter started off with some rocky kicking and nervous field play, but like any kickball professional he shook off the butterflies and got it together.
Thinking he had the game winning kick, but being called off for out in front of the plate, few thought he could muster the guile to come through in the clutch after such a defeating call.
Peter rose to the occasion in the seventh inning, and kicked the game winning sacrifice, and the rejoicing continued throughout the evening. Great job Peter!

Toni had both teams having fun with her boisterous personality, engaging smile, and friendly kickball attitude.
She led off the game with fun, and I swear I thought she'd won a new car when she caught a line drive early in the game.
Great attitude, Great fun, Great game Toni!

This weeks player of the week goes to Kris Sophiea and his outstanding play! Kris played very solid on defense, and made a couple of great throws to catch base-runners off guard with his accuracy and strength. He also kicked 2 bombs in his game that really impressed! Great game Kris!

The weather was perfect for kickball and Mike came to play. Mike was playing third base and was stellar all night. With the ball kicked like a line drive, Mike caught the ball on the hop, tagged the runner going from 2nd to 3rd and eventually stepped on 2nd for a great unassisted double play. With the Redfin's mounting a comeback, and 2 runners on. Mike hit a 3 run homerun to cement the win. Great work Mike.

POTW: Steve Champeau
Bed Bugs
Last Wednesday, Steve Champeau turned in one of the most impressive defensive performances that I have ever seen. From his right-center field position he somehow accounted for 75% of his teams outs. By the middle of the game, the opposing batters were doing everything they could to avoid him. But due to his excellent speed and anticipation skills their efforts were futile and Steve continued to dominate all over the field until the game's end.

Redfin
This week's player...or players of the week go to each player on team Redfin that helped a certain gentleman on the opposing team find a very very very important item. You've never seen teammwork in Kickball like this. After forming a line, players from both teams stood side by side, arms interlocked and took little itty-bitty steps in the outfield in search of "sunshine on a cloudy day" for this gentleman. Finally after an intense search, a player from Redfin announced the discovery of what some call a representation of LOVE. Tears of joy flooded each player, as everyone celebrated this positive ending to the grueling search. Monday night was a proud day for America and all kickballers nation wide. Thanks TEAM REDFIN!

On the first catch it looked like it was luck. The second looked a little more natural. The third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh catches were straight up the stuff of legend. I'm talking about Andrew Choi's one handed catches. He wasn't trying to show off. He just happened to break a finger playing softball last week, but that did not stop him from dominating on the kickball field this past Wednesday. Andrew's incredible display of maimed athleticism earned him Player of the Week. Great job Andrew!

POTW: Kevin Soley
Team USA
The Seahawks maybe locked out but they should send their scout out to Cascade to find themselves a new field goal kicker. I have never seen a ball kicked so far. Kevin put the boot to the ball kicking 2 homeruns producing 4 RBIs, one of which made it all the way to the playground in the air. He also displayed his skills in the field at shortstop making the catch then hitting the runner attempting to go to third for a double-play. Way to play out there Kevin!

POTW: Lindsay Goodman
POTW: Lindsay Goodman
Bed Bugs
While Lindsay Goodman played two solid games in the Bed Bugs double-header this week, the primary reason she is getting player of the week honors is because of a sick double play that she pulled off in crunch time to keep her team within striking distance. Team USA was threatening to put the nail in the coffin with the bases loaded in the top of the final inning and only one out, when Lindsay batted down a scorching ground ball right down the first base line. She then proceeded to tag out the runner going to second while at the same time leaping to make the out at first just in the nick of time. Lindsay and her team were not quite able to pull off the win but her clutch defense still dominated the post-game chatter, as it should of. Congrats Lindsay!

Suit Up
The mark of a great player is that even when all your opponents know what you are going to do you still can't be stopped. Well last Monday everyone at the Cascade Kickball field knew that Chad Crummer of "Suit Up" was going to crush deep flyballs and not once were they able to stop him. Due to his incredible power and pin point accuracy Chad was able land kicks deep down the foul lines or in the gaps. For his extraordinary kicking performance Chad earned Player of the Week honors this week. Congrats Chad!

POTW: Jim Copacino
The Larry Bernandez Sisters
With a great attitude and making both teams laugh all night. Jim pitched the game of the night. It wasn't always pretty... He even had a pitch that didn't even get to the plate.. I know, hard to believe we are giving Player Of The Week to a pitcher that can't pitch the ball to the plate but Jim poised himself and pitched a complete game shut out. Playing great defense, making play after play and not to mention his many timely kicks in both games. This was a no brainer to give the player of the week to Felix Hernandez, dang there I go again, I mean Jim Copacino. Thanks for the laughs and keeping it fun....
