Winter Softcore Co-ed Volleyball at First Baptist Thursdays

First day of the season, both teams are tense and filled with the desire to NOT MESS UP. The air is filled with stress and anxiety, some of these people have never met each other before; but they all share a common goal, to win the game and start the season off with dignity and poise. Then suddenly the late comer Robert Fife steps into the gym...things have change. Energy on the court for the Stunting Squirrels has skyrocketed! Robbie's pumping out block after kill after block. Even while behind on the score board Robbie stuck with it and played like there wasn't a tomorrow. Team spirit, sportsmanship, and skill; this guy is a steal.

Stunt Squirrels came in with full on team spirit tonight along with some unique cheers... Robert gets a special mention for bringing crazy energy to the gym! You always know where he is because he is an octave above the rest of the team when he cheers in a little "squirrel" voice. He always looks like he is having a great time and his little voice tonight was priceless! It's team spirit and overall individuality that gets Robert Fife player of the week!

Mark, or as the team calls him, "Marky Mark" had the ultimate save tonight. In a heated volley between Flo's Heroes and Emerald City Upstarts this save set the bar high for the definition of dedication. A strong save from an opposing kill that went a little too high and hit the ceiling causing an epic "psych!" Luckily Marky Mark was there to save the day and with his ultimate ninja reflexes bumped the ball to the other side. Hands down best save I've seen in a long time.

Kelly was a great team player tonight. The entire season she has been nothing but smiles; having fun was her first priority. And tonight, even with the championship on the line, her uplifting character helped her team have a great evening. I give her all props tonight!
