Spring Softcore Volleyball at First Baptist Thursdays

Upon arrival, it was pretty evident what an asset to the team Jose is! He had been gone the week before and the team was quick to let him know how much he had been missed and how excited they were to have him here this week.
Jose had an incredible attitude and support for his team. He was very easy going, always with a smile. On the court he showed amazing skill, with awesome saves and hard hitting spikes. He was quick to cover the ground on in coming hits.
Someone like Jose is exactly who you want on your team.

When your team is down 2 players, the match ahead is going to be tougher than usual.  Spikeeasaurus Rex was fueled by Tasha's positivity and effort.  There was no ball Tasha didn't try to chase down - resulting in some fantastic saves.  There was even camaraderie and congratulations across the net! Tasha definitely is an asset to her team and we loved her encouragement and support for others

This past Thursday at First Baptist, Scott Douglass of Ball So Hard came up clutch when his team needed him most. Ball So Hard won their first game and needed to win the second to become the champions. During the second game between the two teams, Ball So Hard and their opponents were at the point where a win-by-2 was needed to secure the win for that game. Undeterred, Scott rose to the occasion, proceeding to attack and block at the net as if it were the last time he’d ever play volleyball. With his awesome plays up front, Ball So Hard was able to come up for a 27-25 win in the second game, securing their title as “champs”. For displaying an immeasurable amount of grit, Scott is our Player of the Week. Congratulations!
