Alex was very friendly and immediately introduced himself! He was quick to organize his team and set up a strong line up that led to a victory. He was a strong player in the back row digging and passing to the setter consistently! He also helped his team with a few distinguished kills in the front row. His quick feet and mad hops were a huge asset to his team tonight. Great job, Alex! Keep up the good work :)

Drew puts in work

Drew's hits never quits
Drew played volleyball this week like a pro. His hits were fast and landed either before the ten foot line or deep in the sharp corners. Nothing can get past him on the net with blocks/tips/hits like his. Drew also always follows the ball, whether it was shanked or he was digging it. His team encouragement is amazing! Regardless of if the play was bad or good, he always had the right thing to say. During the last game he set instead of being a hitter so that his team had a chance at spiking the ball. Drew is one of the best players I've seen this season in sportsmanship and volleyball skills, which is why he deserves the title Player of the Week. Amazing job, Drew!

James Dowsett, Player of the Week
James Dowsett, Player of the Week
Bumping Uglies
James Dowsett of the team, the Bumping Uglies had a great game on Wednesday. His obvious volleyball talent showed through from the moment I began watching him.
His passing was nearly perfect, his offense was a force to be reckoned with, and his serve was insanely consistent and hard driven, especially when he opened up and started jump serving. Not only was James's play great, but his attitude on the court was also admirable. He was super inclusive, and had very positive talk. For all these reasons, James clearly takes the player of the week title. Congrats James!

Stefanie Spikes Back
Stefanie Spikes Back
Blue Kalamazoos
In today's spectacular game we saw the rising of a superstar, Stefanie Voo really show us her A game. Now though the Blue Kalamazoos had a slow start to their game, as the first set ended and the second began I really started to see Stefanie's star potential.
So with the first set, I saw that the Kalamazoos were up against a strong match up, I knew it would be a struggle to come up with the win. And with that thought, I watched them play a very close first set, each team scoring right after each other, but slowly WeTwerk starting taking the lead. With that the Kalamazoos found themselves 10 points behind and nearing the end of their first set. However Stefanie had something to say about that. With her help, the Kalamazoos went on a run and then took the set 25-23.
Now with Stefanie getting into her groove, all of her talent just jumped out at me. Her spikes were basically insta-points, her serves nearly impossible to return, and her sets were so pinpoint that you could kill it with your eyes closed. With her skills, it sparked something in the Kalamazoos, an unstoppable momentum that helped the Kalamazoos to go 3-0. This remarkable feat was thrilling to watch and I truly want to congratulate the Kalamazoos on their hard fought victory. I am truly excited to watch y'all play again.

One step closer to the gold
One step closer to the gold
Daisey Lee Hit That
In todays epic match-up I'd Hit That faced a tough battle against their foes, winning this important game in the last two sets. Now this epic feat could not have been accomplished without the blood, sweat and valor of their amazingly talented Daisey Lee. Though in their first set, I'd Hit That looked like an average joe team, fumbling away and looking a wee bit sloppy, they still somehow managed to put up a close fight only losing the 1st set by a mere few points. However, they rallied to the voice of one determined powerhouse of a player. Daisey Lee brought her team into the huddle and refocused her team on one thing, winning. With this new found inspiration, I'd Hit That went on a brutal run, scoring here and there, with kills and aces to spare, they took the 2nd set easily 25-12. The score being 1-1 going into this last set would be crucial for both teams looking at the final picture of them with the championship t-shirts on their backs. Both teams put up a hard battle. With the clock running out and the score slowly siding with I'd Hit That, they rallied once again behind Daisey's determined energy and they took the final set 25-20. Daisey's hard work, skillful plays and intense vigor helped her team win this game, but I suppose her fierce kills, pinpoint sets and dazzling aces helped too.
Congratulations Daisey and I'd Hit That! Y'all did super and it was a good show to watch. Good luck on your next game!

Alexander Voo back at it again
Alexander Voo back at it again
Blue Kalamazoos
Alex Voo played like a volleyball extraordinaire today, in his semifinal match against his higher seeded team. This true underdog team really showed us what it means to truly fight hard and competitively even if the odds are against you. Even with this challenge the Blue Kalamazoos fought this battle with with near ease, only playing two very one sided sets, it did not seem like they were the lower seed however with this disadvantage they fought hard and made it very clear who the champions should be for this league. This 2-0 complete victory could not have happened however without the talent and remarkable skill of their star player Alex Voo. Alex now was just a monster and honestly looked like he could play for the USA olympic team with his skill. With sets that a baby could kill, blocks that not even a cannon could penetrate, it truly is astonishing that their opponents had a chance to begin with. Not only that Alex Voo was skillfully able to serve aces at whim, and kills were basically a gimme with his perfect timing and power behind each swing. Very impressive and super fun to watch, Congrats it was quite a show Blues and Alex.
