Summer Rookie Kickball Downtown Mon/Wed

John played a mean shortstop this week. He gobbled up everything kicked to him and to his peripheral area! He led his team to victory with a booming double and 2 RKI. He did all this while playing on a bad wheel! Great job John.

This weeks player of the week goes to Vinny Hood for holding it down at short-stop. Vinny caught everything kicked his direction, many of them with high hops to reel in the out. It was his hustle on the bases that tipped the voting for POTG, getting on base everytime. He also made a great sliding play into 3rd base to avoid the tag and eventually score safely, he showed mad skills and should start looking for an ALL*STAR kickball team to travel the country with!

Lisa brought the smoke on Monday at Cascade throwing the complete game shutout on a sunny Afternoon. After the big win Lisa was immediately acquired by the Mariners to fill Cliff Lee's spot in the rotation. Nice work Lisa!

This weeks player of the week goes to Steph and her amazing kicks in the game. She kicked huge shots into the outfield and ran the bases like a champ. She made the game look easy, and should consider playing professionally! Great job Steph!

This weeks player of the week goes to Lance Reding for his great plays down the stretch in a close game. He made excellent defensive catches to halt movement on the bases for the opponent, and keep the game close. In the final inning he kicked a very important 3 run homer to put his team up and take a one run victory! Great job Lance!

WoW. What a Kick. John helped to tie up the game by blasting an out of the park grand slam. He blasted it all the way to the basketball court in right field. It was an absolutely epic kick.

This week's player of the week is not a player but a whole team. A HUGE shot out to the Bad News Banyans for not only being awesome at kickball but for displaying quality sportsmanship. During their match up w/the B-Line Bullies (who are, btw, made up of sweethearts and not bullies:), there was an intance where there was maybe, kinda sorta, a man bunt that occured in the 7th. And instead of demanding either the head of the umpire for not calling him out, they were unanimously in favor of letting him try it out at the plate again. For being a number one seed in the league, these all stars, are a great addition to underdog kickball. BIG THANKS, BAD NEWS BANYANS!!

This week's player of the week goes to Purple Rain's Best friend and everyone's favorite, Lil Jon. Yes, that Lil Jon. The one you hear and uncontrollably, bob your head and shake your butt. During the 3rd place game, downtown, Purple Rain brought that sweet, sweet sound. And as expected, Kickball turned into a dance party. Kicking and fielding came secondary to "Steve Martin Style" dancing. Anchal dropped it like it was hot the whole game....didn't take a break....dude was unbelievable when it came to cuttin a rug. Even the umpire, I think, snapped his fingers once or twice. Fun Times when you mix a bit of booze and Lil Jon on the boombox.
