A Blocker's Paradise
Close match ups force 3rd sets

The playoffs were intense this season, each match going to a 3rd set. Spiked Punch was out for blood early with huge blocks and great defense; but its hard to take down a Panda. Gavin, Dan, and Randy were putting up blocks while Melanie ran all over to set. Helen and Ashley hit the floor playing defense. In the end, Pandas prevailed. Patti was on her A game, Court was blocking like crazy, James and Joe were playing tough defense. Panda's setters Molly and Sarah worked hard at making it look too easy. Then they had to wait and watch while Damaged Goods and Happy Ending battled, and I mean battled. This was fought on 2 fronts; hitting and hustling. Damaged Goods guys were swinging at everything, and led by Mike and Jason the kills kept coming. Staci and Kat put them up, Megan and the boys brought them down. But Happy Ending wasn't going away quietly. Derek and Whitney blocked and killed while Max and Monica ran all over saving plays. After 3 grueling sets, Damaged Goods had out hit their competition. The championship game lasted 90 minutes! These volleyball junkies were exhausted and still hustling. In the end, the Pandas proved they had come to play and win, knocking out the 1 seeded Damaged Goods. Great season, great playoffs, and so much fun for this supervisor!
