Notes

First Place

Winter Co-ed Flag Football at Seattle Center Sundays

During the season, which is long, some teams start out of the gate fast and get to the playoffs with ease. Sloop was not that team; they were not slow out of the gate but they were steady and their game seemed to improve during each week. The team really peaked during the playoffs. They came into the championship game on a hot streak. Whack-A-Mole Adventure Squad (WAMAS) did not stumble out of the gate either and they quickly established themselves as one of the elite teams. They played a fiercely contested game against Burning Sensations. If not for the nice touchdown grab from Tammie Larson, WAMAS might have gone home early. In the title game, Sloop jumped out early in this game and never looked back. Their offense was clicking on all cylinders and their defense was equal to the task as they grabbed four interceptions. It seemed like they were all over the field and knew what the play called by WAMAS. WAMAS, to their credit, never gave up and managed to put some scores together and kept attacking however, Sloop was overpowering on this day and would not be denied. Our hats are off to all of those who gave 150 percent this season and we would like to thank Sloop and WAMAS for a wonderful championship game. It was an honor to referee every single playoff game. Special congratulations go out to Sloop Tavern.
