Scott Simpson

New Kicks on the Block

Scott S. played a very solid 3rd base and had a tremendous offensive performance Sunday, keeping the New Kicks on the Block in the game after they fell behind by 8 runs after only 2 innings. Scott led off the 3rd with a solo HR just over the head of the center fielder. He followed that in the 5th with a 2-run double, then capped his scoring with a HUGE 2-run single in the top of the 7th, giving his team their first lead of the game. Unfortunately, after holding their opponent scoreless for the previous 4 innings, the defense finally gave one up in the bottom of the 7th for the loss.

Erica Bechtel

New Kicks on the Block

With her team playing super thin with only 7 players, Erica had a big job ahead of her pitching.
Like lightning in a bottle, her small frame could barely contain her energy and passion for sports, even on a chilly night.
At the plate she was deft with her touch and quick on the basepaths.
But her true grit talent shown through while pitching.
She battled countless up-the-middle kicks blasted right back at her, and even turned some of them into crafty plays. All with a smile on her face.
Erica was definitely my Player of the Week!
