Notes

First Place

Spring Big Turkey Bowling at Sun Villa Wednesdays 7pm

It was a season of destiny from Team TBD. From the outset of the season, they were easily the most consistent team in the league. Other teams may have had wacky names*, other teams may have drank more beer, but TBD came out with steely determination. I have teased their players in this space before for being too good for our league, but really, they came out, had fun, and bowled exceptionally in the process.

In the first playoff game, led by their ace Greg, and a strong performance by Becky, they rolled (HAR!) to a victory over Holly Balls. But in the final, their opponent, the Lane Rangers, proved to be a tougher opponent, but led by Greg's 201, they squeaked out a victory to claim their second Underdog Bowling title. Congrats!

*Also, I found out what Team FUPA means. I knew I didn't want to know.

POTW: Greg Olander

TBD

Now, in week one, I warned everybody that if they wanted to go showing off and rolling in the 200's, that I was going to banish them to the senior league on the other side of the alley. Well, congrats Greg, I'll have your walker for you next week.

Greg Olander, doing his best PBA pro routine, rolled a 222 (capped at 205) and 181 in leading TBD to a rout over the overmatched Lane Rangers, who confided in me later that their butts were going to be sore for awhile after the lashing they got.

One other major notable player goes to Mary, the mysterious teammate of the Gutter Blasters, who in her first go-round with her team, rolled a duplicate 186 in both games.
