Summer Softcore Kickball at Ballard Boys and Girls Club Sundays

Championship game came down to 2 very competitive teams that don't make a lot of errors, and they didn't disappoint on this day either. Both teams showed their amazing defense off first, as Matt and Terry were gunning would be runners all the way from 3rd for their respected teams and both pitchers were stellar at the mound. Making the females think twice about bunting. Kickadelphia got it started off first, with 2 runners on base, Kelly (Thor) kicked a line drive over the right center fielders head and sped all the way around the bases for a 3 run homerun. Not to be out done, Drinkers with a Kicking Problem rallied with pinpoint kicking by John to get the score to 3-2... The defense then started again and some frustration also, as tempers flared from Drinkers.. That's when it looked like they lost their composure and things fell apart. Going into the 5th inning and still hanging on by a thred. Gavin (Flash) came up to the plate with 2 runners on and scourched a ball deep over the right fielders head to easily kick a 3 run homerun..Thats all Kickadelphia needed, because their defense, led by Luigi at catcher, was stellar all day and held Drinkers with a Kicking Problem to just 1 run.. Kickadelphia is a great example of a team thats wants to win but also has fun doing it.. Thanks for a great season and always having fun out their.. Congratulations Kickadelphia, you all deserved it....

Leaving It All On The Field

With championship game on the line we try to find the one player that sticks out of the rest, This championship it was Gavin. Gavin played fearless defense, running down line drives and making diving catches that Ichiro would be impressed about. He made one play that everyone will be talking for a while.. With one out and a runner on first, the ball was kicked on a rope towards center field, going to his left, Gavin dove and and made an amazing over the head catch... Gavin didn't disappoint at the plate either.. With runners on first and second, before the ball got to the plate he was saying "I'm gonna kick it hard, I'm gonna kick it hard", and he kicked it to the deepest part of the field for a 3 run homerun. Congratulations on a all around great game Gavin...
