Brian Kicks for the Win!
The final game of the day at Ballard Boys and Girls Club was full of excitement. It was an intense defensive battle for nearly the entire game until the 7th inning. Brian McWilliams produced a clutch kick to left-field to score Ivan for the winning run. It was crazy! Great job Kicks Ahoy and good luck next week.

Donnie McAlpine "Launches" Team to a Victory
Great weather this week brought forth an amazing line-up of kickball games at the Ballard Boys & Girls Club. Yellow Fever had a double-header and started out with a close loss to Oskar's; 8 -6. Redemption was resting on their second game and Donnie McAlpine brought out the big guns immediately. After 2 hits in the first three innings, Donnie launched a massive kick that hit the scoreboard in right-center field. He knocked in two runs and managed to land safely at 3rd base for a stand-up triple. It's definitely going down in the record books as being one of the longest kick's at the field. Nice job Donnie!

Chicks dig the longball

Its not very easy to kick the ball far. Its even harder to kick it far every time you're up at the plate. But that is what seemed to happen when Jake Potter was up to kick. The only time he stopped at first was to be a base coach. He had a grand-slam and accounted for more than half his team's runs in the first of their doubleheader with 8 RBIs. I haven't seen the ball fly this far since Mark McGuire was in the league. Nice kicking Jake!

Speed Kills!!!!
Speed Kills!!!!
The Ballbusters didn't have an answer for Ball Euphemism and Dan. Ball Euphemism jumped on top and never looked back. A lot of the damage was because Dan played out of his mind. He recorded not one but TWO homeruns, with 5 RBI's. If that wasn't enough he also pitched a complete 2 run game. His defense was relentless and it seemed like he had BALLBUSTERS rattled all game. Good game to both teams and way to play Dan.

The Wookies
The Wookies
Bobby and the Growling Jihad Wookies were on a mission today. With the game pretty tight for the majority of the time, Bobby stepped up and knocked a 3 run homerun to start a 6 run rally. A lead the Wookies would not relinquish. Bobby then followed Otho with a triple and a single. A double away from the cycle. Great all around game Wookies.

Ben just got done playing a grooling game and was a little tired. Yellow Fever needed players and luckily for them that ben agreed to play with them. Ben kicked not 1 but 2 Grand Slams... Yes 2 Grand Slams. Who does that? Ben accounted for 9 RBI's and played outstanding defense to go along with his solid kicking. Sophia chipped in with a spectacular unassisted double and 3 RBI's for herself. Ben saved his best game for another team but he still played just as hard as he always does. Great game all around.

When Jon had to come through for his team, he didnt disappoint. Jon had not one but 2 homeruns to seal a win for Unfinished Business. With the game clearly in hand, Balls and Dolls didn't go out without a fight. They tested Jon all day at 1st base, but Jon came through there too. He caught line drive after line drive, making it look way to easy. With 1 out and a runner at 1st, Jon caught another line drive and stepped on first base for the unassisted double play to end the game.. Great game Jon and Unfinished Business.....

Leaving It All On The Field
Leaving It All On The Field
With championship game on the line we try to find the one player that sticks out of the rest, This championship it was Gavin. Gavin played fearless defense, running down line drives and making diving catches that Ichiro would be impressed about. He made one play that everyone will be talking for a while.. With one out and a runner on first, the ball was kicked on a rope towards center field, going to his left, Gavin dove and and made an amazing over the head catch... Gavin didn't disappoint at the plate either.. With runners on first and second, before the ball got to the plate he was saying "I'm gonna kick it hard, I'm gonna kick it hard", and he kicked it to the deepest part of the field for a 3 run homerun. Congratulations on a all around great game Gavin...
