This week's player of the game goes to Chris Vair of the team, Accidental Grab. You could say Chris was brave or tough or manly or even border line insane but that wasn't what drove this kickballer...no sir. Chris, only moments before the first pitch, underwent major surgery on his leg. Without hesitation, he stll showed up dedicated and willing to help his team win. "Did that hurt, Chris?" was a common question that was asked during the game and the response you would get is "hell yeah it did", but that didn't stop him from finishing out the game. They lost the game, but Chris came up w/some huge plays which kept them in contention. Way to fight through the pain, Chris. And please, to whoever is reading this, as much fun as kickball is when your doctor tells you to stay off your leg....STAY OFF YOUR LEG! You da man, Chris:)
This week's player of the week goes to Anthony W of Accidental Grab. Anthony played his heart out in back to back games, providing important runs in both outings. On one play against the Balls Smashers, Anthony forgot to tag up from 3rd and so his teammates yelled and yelled at him to go back. After about 2 minutes of yelling, Anthony decided to make his way back to 3rd, barely making it safe. This was key b/c he scored on the next play. Throughout the rest of that game and the next, Anthony persevered through even though he didn't seem to fully recover from the marathon he ran going from 3rd to home and back:) Great hustle out there, Anthony. And next time remember to TAG UP....you'll save energy that way;) !!
