  To Kill a Blocking Nerd

Triumph of the Nerds!
Because revenge isn't glorious enough.

In a thrilling conclusion to the Softcore season, To Kill A Blocking Nerd battled through a tough semi-final round victory, en route to cruising to a win in the championship round. While many spectators may prefer the excitement to culminate in the championship game, it was the match leading up to the finals that truly tested the mettle of To Kill A Blocking Nerd. Blake Webb and Eliza Junkerman led the way in the first game, then while sitting on the bench for the second, they watched their one game lead disappear, putting their season on the line in the third and final game. But TKABN responded as only champions do, taking the third game 21-14 and moving on to the championship, where they found their groove and sailed on to a 2-0 victory. Kalli Dennis stole the show in the championship, putting together an array of fabulous moves, bumping, setting, and spiking anything in sight, leaving Janes Naughty Monkeys dizzy from her seemingly endless volleyball skills.

Monkeys Love Championships
Monkey Lovers complete sweep of summer leagues

In the early summer league, the Monkey Lovers displayed their dominance throughout the season, losing only one game out of nine total matches. Heading into the late summer season, they were the odds on favorite to take the championship again, but many contending teams had other ideas.

While the late summer season tested them much more, they were able to prevail once again, thanks to some clutch play in the championship game. After cruising in their first game in the championship against Hit It and Quit It, their opponents led a furious charge in the second game, taking the lead and never relinquishing it. This set the stage for one game for all the marbles. Led by Megan Tribble and Kalynn Simmons, Hit It and Quit It played their hearts out in an effort to steal away the league title. Countless points were contested for seemingly endless rallies, as "Thunder" Rob Trickett and Lou Antezana had enough answers for the Monkey Lovers to escape with a narrow victory, and their second straight championship.
