Summer Co-ed Kickball at Ballard Boys & Girls Club Sundays

Jeff played great in both games of his double-header. In game 1, he kicked a 3 run triple in the first to get his team going. His pitching and defense were superb--recording numerous outs on bunts with perfect throws to first. He continued the great D in game 2 where he had an unassisted triple play in the 1st and a big double play in the 6th to help lead his team to victory.

Paco came up big on both sides of the ball in this extra innings battle on Sunday. He pitched superbly and did a nice job covering bunts to limit the opponents base runners. However, his timely offense was key, especially in the final inning. Early in the game, he kicked a solid single for an RBI and a run scored. But the 7th inning ended tied and we went into extra innings where Paco and Don't Drop the Fifth quickly fell behind by two runs. In their bottom of the 8th, the first two runners got aboard and with a lazy throw-in, both runners advanced into scoring position bringing Paco to the plate. He smashed a solid double for the tying runs ending up at 3rd and scored on the next pitch when Derek slapped a single to right for the win.

Our last game of Sunday at Ballard Boy's and Girl's Club field between Don't Drop the Fifth! and Marshall Law was filled with fun and outstanding catches and a 19-3 victory in favor of Don't Drop the Fifth!. The outstanding Player of the Week Alex Wilson helped his team in this victory. Alex W. hit a grand salami (slam) and also went on to miss hitting for the "Cycle" by a double. (He hit one of his two singles in the last inning, missing the double). What a great offensive performance! For those offensive statistics, Alex is this week's Player of the Week. Everyone rocked this week!

Garrett Vincent is a great competitor, has a great attitude and is a fantastic kickball player as well. He always shows up to the field in his classic zebra shorts, some say they make him faster and others say they are infused with some type of speed-boosting serum. He's fast quick and always ready for a bunt when behind the plate and is always willing to sacrifice the body in an attempt for an out. Vincent can do it all and have a huge grin on his face while he's doing it. Mr. Vincent had a great championship game, showed great hustle along with a great attitude and that's why he's our Player of the Week!
