This weeks player of the week goes to Anthony of Babby's Bowlers! Leading his team into the maiden voyage of their first time in USL league bowling, he took the pressure well bowling a 168 in his first game. That score was only beat by one other player, but Anthony followed it up with a solid 142, and helped his team earn a point. Not only did he bowl well he is setting the expectations for his fellow team-mates to follow suit. Great job Tony!
The player of the week goes to Terry Harris of the Turkey Bass Turds. She was high octane right from the get go. They should now rename Bowling to Terrying. The game would be played the same, but you would have to get Terry's approval on every strike dance preformed. After the league is finished she will be heading to New York for the next season of "Dancing with the Stars." When she was not knocking down pins, she was high fiving her teammates, cheering them on, and she even picked up one of her teammates, and it was a guy, 'true story.' I was impressed the entire night by her sportsmanship and her incredible feats of strength. So it is with great pleasure, I give my first player of the week to her.
The player of the week goes to the boss 'Gutter Snake' himself Justin Johnson, aka JJ, aka 'i get a strike or spare every other roll,' aka 'the corner stone of the Wongdoody Squad'. Since Captain Dave's sabbatical into parenthood, Justin has taken the reigns as the veteran leadership for Wongdoody team. In addition to staying after the game to practice with his team, here's what he brings to the table... at least 160 per game, he's good for at least 2 pitchers of beer for the team, and he'll even drop an occasional fist pump. That's the stuff MVP's are made out of! Lebron? Kobe? Justin! Roll on Gutter Snake, Roll on...
The player of the week goes to Gina Bassara!!!Through hard work and a wicked diet which consists of bowling alley margaritas and shrimp fried rice this little hellcat has brought her game to the next level. Bowling 106 in the first game then 85 in the second she has made it clear to this supervisor the power of positive reinforcement and good old fashion prayer can have a direct impact on one's bowling game. Who knew??? I wonder if it works for world peace as well? In the meantime, in the words of Journey " don't stop believing." and keep on rollin'.
I also have to give a team shout-out to "You Don't Actually Blow." They were definitely the life of the party this week. I don't know what type of sugar rush they were on, but it worked. I guess crazy behavior equals crazy spirit. Keep that up and we won't have enough coupons for any of the other teams. Man,you guy's are crazy.
Casey of Babby's Bowlers, lead his team to victory this week as the highest scoring team member in both games! In addition to Casey's high scoring abilities, he also scored triple strikes in the 10th frame of game 1...picking up a turkey and a much coveted prize coupon. Way to go Casey!
After countless hours of deliberation and many sleepless nights trying to figure who was worthy of player of the week honors I came to the only conclusion I thought was fit for the week. So I would like to take this time to congratulate all the players for all six teams.
Every week you guys came with an infectious energy and enthusiasm that made my job, well, not a job. Before being around all of you, i never knew Monday nights could be so much fun. Whether it was conversations I had with you or baring witness to some of the craziest dance moves imaginable, it was always a great time, and that's what the league is all about, having great times. I know this was my first league experience so I don't really have anything to compare you guy's to, but I will say that you set the bar very high my friends.
Once again, congratulations to all of you for being the player of the week.
Shout out to Babby's bowlers! You guys rocked the 9 pin no tap!! Nice work!
