Check the history books, and you will notice that no team with lower than an 8th seed has ever won the prestigious March Madness College Basketball tournament in the contest's long history. We here at Underdog may occasionally swap out basketballs for kickballs, but across sports we recognize that odds tend to stack against low seeded opponents. As the 11th seed in the Lower Woodlands Thursday League Softcore tournament, the Master-Batters would have to defeat the League's stiffest competition, in consecutive instances. And wouldn't you know, that's exactly what happened. Prevailing through a continuous series of close matches, the Master-Batters climaxed in a long and arduous game to knock off the top-seeded Sparkle Mountain Chupacabras.

The Violent Chubbies continued their storied tradition of kickball dominance by taking home another championship on Thursday. Throughout the midcore playoffs, the Chubbies were on top of their game, executing defensive plays with ruthless finesse. Each and every member of the team kicked and bunted the kickball right into the defensive gaps, easing their way into a victory during a barn-burning championship game.
