Woah, Joe! What a great opening week. First, Joe opens the season with a strike not only pulling his team ahead to an early lead but also raking in 5 prize coupons. This feat of skill (not to be awarded by alcohol) set the pace for the rest of the evening as Joe brought the team 1/2 way to their goal of winning a $50 gift card to Sport with his mad skills. The secret to his success? It could be the recent switch from the slightly more "ghetto" Imperial Lanes to the soon to be missed Sunset. Or perhaps it was because he kept his drinking to a 12 pack maximum. Either way, Joe helped secure a victory in the first match and overall pin total. I guess it's true what they say, "the longer the pins, the harder they fall?" Well, maybe no one actually says that but you could imagine.

Unusual Spare
As team 'Unusual Spare' began their warm-up in lane 24, no one could have predicted the greatness they would soon witness.
Through the course of the evening Don Boswell was cheered on by his teammates and wife Melissa, as he skillfully scored triple spares, triple strikes (a.k.a. A Turkey) and finally the highest score of the evening in a single game.
They say lightening never strikes the same place twice...Can Don achieve the Big Turkey Trifecta two weeks in a row?

Bryan succesfully bowled two games with consistent strikes and spares in almost every frame (all but 2 in both games). He ended with a personal 177 followed by a 176, not to mention a 3-1 team victory over O'Doyle Rules! who was definitely on fire for game 2. Bryan is pretty much the bomb.com in case you hadn't heard.

Big Balls Long Pins
How to describe Brian and his bowling game...pretty much just AWESOME! He capped out both games with a 213 in the first followed by a 226 leading his team to another 4-0 victory and helping them to maintain their first place lead as they enter the last regular play week before playoffs. This team is pretty much unstoppable! Whoop!

Little Lebowski Urban Achievers - Indy #1
Chelsea utilized this week (and her team's lack of ability to show up) to bowl her way to her 3rd best score ever. She was able to accomplish this state of the art game play through a combination of consuming a tasty elixir and wearing her lucky sweater. Chelsea's got it and maybe if she is nice enough, she can teach Mike a little something about how to bowl.

Nick knew the Big Turkey Championships are no joke. He came prepared and practiced visualizing strikes for hours preceding the match. Warming up in game 1, he bowled a 152, which was enough to put his team into the final game. Knowing he would have to step it up, he quit messing around and bowled a 242 with strikes in all but 2.5 frames. I would have to say this is the highest score I have personally witnessed in Big Turkey. Looks like Nike is ready for the pros!
