Erik Ulberg
Pitch, Please
If we handed out Golden Gloves, Erik would be a number one candidate for sure. With players salivating at the short porch in right field, Erik knew he had a major task at hand in his first game of the season. Not only did he catch everything kicked at him (including a couple deep foul balls), but he evoked shades of Spiderman climbing the fence numerous times to prevent foul balls from going over. Great job out there, Erik, our first Player of the Week!

Jamie LaPorte
Indy #K15
Jamie had a huge offensive day including a big grand slam in the 3rd inning. He also kicked a double and a triple for at least 8 RBI's and 2 runs scored. On defense, he made every catch that came his way and had a great late-inning rally ending put-out at 3rd, when he chose to fire a rocket at the runner instead of taking the chance on making a force out. It was a great play and everyone walked away, but... easy with that thing big fella'.

Quang Tran
Kickas In Paris (The Second Coming of YEEZUS)
"Q" had a great game all-around on Wednesday night including a big grand slam HR in the 3rd inning that took a mighty bounce over the outfielders head and just kept rolling. He also scored 3 runs in what ended up being a very close 1-run victory. If not for the appearance of Kanye and the Eiffel tower to support the Kickas' in Paris, this game could have easily went the other way.

Shawn B.
Drinkers with a Kicking Problem
Shawn had an outstanding defensive performance on Wednesday night. Playing 1st base, he made numerous unbelievable outs with great stretch and catch, always holding onto the ball regardless how his body was contorted to keep a foot on the bag. On offense, he had a nice double, scored 2-runs and had 3 RBI's--just a great all-around performance by Shawn. Nice work!
ShrEdelman forfeited to Kickas In Paris (The Second Coming of YEEZUS).

Krista Fink
Drinkers with a Kicking Problem
Krista is this weeks POTW for her presence on the diamond. Krista play a key role in her teams win Wednesday with excellent bunts, as well as solid defense she performed with style. Krista is an obvious favorite on her squad and people bragged of her "small but mighty" approach to the game. Great game Krista!
Dan, who drove from his farm in the middle of no where to Seattle came up clutch in a big way. With runners on second and third and down by a run. he put on his farming boot and unloaded on the ball to hit a 3 run home run! to win the game!
Papa Richard's Renegades win a wild one in walk-off fashion!
Papa Richard's Renegades earn this week's Team of the Week for their amazing comeback performance over ShrEdlemen. Usually when a team is down 10-2 halfway through the game, the team just crumbles and figures it's on to the next one. Not these Renegades, who scored 10 runs in their final 3 at-bats to steal the victory from the grasps of defeat. It was all up to Allie H, who placed a perfectly kicked ball right in the middle of the infield to score the winning run! Congrats Papa Richard's Renegades!

Indy keeps rolling, improves to 5-0
Early onslaught too much for opponents to overcome
Usually when you think of an Underdog Indy team, you think of a random ragtag group of people still getting to know each other and find their rhythm on the kickball field. Well, not with this bunch, a group of experienced Indy players that put the pedal to the metal in their 10-3 victory. From the ladies with their excellent bunt placement to the boomers kicking it over the fence, this team is seemingly unstoppable on the offensive side. Look out Lower Woodlands teams, this team spoke of playing in both the Monday and Wednesday leagues, and will not be a team to take for granted.

Going big early.
INDY15 took an early lead in the first inning. scored nine runs and then just held onto that leave throughout the rest the game. They displayed excellent sportsmanship throughout the whole game. After the game they asked if anyone else need more players play.
Drinkers with a Kicking Problem forfeited to Pitch, Please.
Brian Colella
Pitch, Please
Brian had a complete game on Wednesday to help his team advance to the finals. He had some huge kicks for 6 RBI's and scored 3 runs. On defense, he recorded three straight outs to single handedly end an inning and had a terrific unassisted double play. He even scored a little 'road rash' from his big slide to beat a throw to 3rd. Just a great day's work.
Our player of the week this week is DJ Carroll. Tasked with playing catcher on a field that had a giant puddle right where the catcher was, DJ was constantly guarding the kickball from becoming absurdly muddy. For his heroic sportsmanship, DJ is our player of the week.
Brent had a huge performance on both offense and defense in the championship game. He had two great catches in right field that really kept his team in the game. In both situations, Kickas' had runners on base and were looking for a big inning. The first catch was great, but the second, coming in the 5th inning was tremendous--running full speed and laying out he made the catch of the season. Offensively, he had some huge kicks, getting on base 4 times leading to 3 runs with at least 3 RBI's. Brent brought his best at the perfect moment--enjoy the well-earned championship.
