Spring Co-ed Softball at Paramount Sundays

The first game of the day turned out to be a nail-biter as the Seattle Shaggy Muskrats out-dueled the Arbornauts. Trailing through the 4th inning, Seattle Shaggy Muskrats took a 1 run lead in the 5th and held on when it mattered. Helping to make sure that the lead held up was the sure handed glove of Laina Mercer of Seattle Shaggy Muskrats. She was catching anything hit or thrown her way and had 2nd base on lockdown! Not only that, but with her team up by just 1 run in the top of the 7th inning, Laina stepped to the plate and smacked a 2 run single to put the game permanently out of reach. Congrats to Seattle Shaggy Muskrats on a well earned 11-8 victory and to Laina Mercer, Player Of The Week!!

Few balls hit to the right side of the field were able to escape the vacuum that was Roddy Theobald's glove. Line drives, dribblers, awkward bounces off the dirt, Roddy handled them all. In addition to flashing the leather himself, Roddy had the awareness to cover second base on balls hit to the short stop, assisting in crucial outs. Roddy's defense was a key part of minimizing the Porch Swings' offense in the later innings.

In a game that ended 14 to 10, it was Brianna's bat that made the difference in this defensive game. Brianna went 3 for 4 with a double as well as a home-run. With Brianna's RBI production she helped put a win in the books for her squad. Great game Brianna!

Throughout the playoffs on this picture perfect Seattle day, all the games were hotly contested without a single blowout win. The parody of the talent level at Paramount has been remarkable, and naturally the championship game was no exception. As the top seeded Twist faced off against the third seeded Seattle Shaggy Muskrats you could tell that this was going to be a great match-up. Twist jumped out to an early 4-0 lead, but Seattle Shaggy Muskrats answered right back to tie it up. After some back and forth and all tied up going into the bottom of the 6th inning, Twist was able to break the tie scoring 3 crucial runs and then holding on in the final inning for an impressive 11-9 victory to take home the title and Underdog Softball Champs shirts! Sandra from Twist went a perfect 4-for-4 from the plate and was a steady offensive force which earns her Player of the Week honors! Congratulations to Twist on a hard earned and well deserved Championship Title!!
