Game of the Season?

The game of the season for this league may have happened on night one. After the lead flip flopped for 5 innings (including early 7 run innings by both teams), Pitches and Pitchers would extend a one run lead to two in the top of the sixth off of a long home run.

All game, both shortstops had been battling an immovable puddle right on the edge of the dirt. McGlovin picked off two balls in the top of the inning to hold Pitches and Pitchers to the one run. If those balls had gone another foot further, they would have turned into singles and possibly doubles.

With the light running out, McGlovin would load the bases with one out in the bottom of the inning.

The next batter up laced a line drive just over the puddle to the outfield grass. In this full of slight edges, the slight edge of the outfield grass was McGlovin's friend. Two inches shorter, the hit is a single that only scores one run. The ball just missed and two runners scored to take home the victory.

Wow! Danny showed off some elite defensive skills this week by making one of the best catches we’ve ever seen in left field during this week’s matchup. He ranged all the way from his position in left field to the foil line where he laid out to make a full extension diving catch. What an amazing play Danny!
