Schweddy Blue Balls, Sucka Punch, The Peglegs - Indy #1, Volleyball Misfits
POTW: erin vassar
ToeJammers
In the return of usually very spirited Toejammer kickball squad, newcomer Erin Vassar emerged as a league star by pulling down any and all fly balls her way, demonstrating a mastery of the bunt, and sacficing her knee with a slide in the waning moments of a dramatic come from behind victory in the bottom of the seventh...
Ball me Gently with a Chainsaw, Contract Year, LaFawnduh, ToeJammers
POTW: Amy McKenna
Volleyball Misfits
In a 7-1 win, Amy McKenna provided all the inspiration that the Volleyball Misfits needed. Early in the game, Amy's aggressive play led to an injury which sidelined her, however her teammates picked up the pace and cruised to a win.
Ball me Gently with a Chainsaw, Contract Year, The Peglegs - Indy #1, Volleyball Misfits
POTW: erin vassar
ToeJammers
With her dazzling defensive plays at 2nd base, and an unstoppable offensive prowess, Erin continues to torment the U-District teams. Is Erin the 5-tool player that everyone says she is? Who knows, but she is our Player Of The Week!
Ball me Gently with a Chainsaw, LaFawnduh, Schweddy Blue Balls, ToeJammers
POTW: Brian
Contract Year
Showing the athleticism of a wiley coyote, Brian Gerich was all over the outfield for team 'Contract Year' snagging flyballs and robbing kickballers from ultimate bliss, to keep his team in the hunt for defending their U-District title...
LaFawnduh, Schweddy Blue Balls, Sucka Punch, Volleyball Misfits
POTW: Jeff Raker
Ball me Gently with a Chainsaw
He may have gotten out on the play but Jeff "tough as nails" Raker inspired his team to victory on Tuesday, rounding third so wide that he tripped and ran into the fence before trying to crawl to home plate. Anyone who hits a fence, gets hit twice with the ball and still keeps on crawling sounds like an Underdog to me.
Ball me Gently with a Chainsaw, Contract Year, The Peglegs - Indy #1, ToeJammers
POTW: Will Sims
Volleyball Misfits
Will was helped out by his defense in this near shut-out. He pitched a brilliant straight ball that allowed the ball to be put in play so that he fielders could do what they do best, make plays.
Ball Me Gently With a Chainsaw vs. Lafawnduh
The Peglegs vs. Schweddy Blue Balls
POTW: Anne Egelson
Contract Year
With all due respect to the great pitching staff, it was the defense and timely hitting by Anne Egelson that made the difference for Contract Year. Late in the semi-final win, Anne came up huge with a spectacular catch, saving possibly three or four runs, making the difference in a 6-3 victory. Then in the championship round, Anne did more of the same, taking away a home run by leaping to the top of the fence and making a spectacular catch.
