Spring Co-ed Kickball at Lower Woodlands Wednesdays

The Seattle Anti-Freeze broke the ice on their season with 9-8 win over Seusspects. The game was a battle throughout, with both teams trading big plays and leads. However Austin Hyden came to the plate in the bottom of the 7th inning with a chance to win it, and he did not disappoint. Austin nailed a kick to the outfield to drive home the winning run and give his team an opening week victory.

In a classic matchup of veteran Underdog Kickball teams, the Base Gods defeated the Violent Chubbies by a score of 12-2. The Chubbies kicks were as cold as the near freezing weather against the well-practiced Base Gods defense. The Base Gods look like the team to beat once again at Lower Woodland.

What kind of crazy stuff can you see on a random Wednesday night in Underdog Kickball? Let's do a quick recap.

First, we had the Cata-Kicks jumping out to their first lead of the season over Pitches Be Crazy. They were able to keep it close for a couple of innings before their pitcher injured their elbow, tried to fight through it, and gave up a handful of runs and the lead for good.

Next, that's not an error. For the 2nd time this season, the Base Gods beat the Chubbies by a score of 12-2. Will the 3rd time be a charm for the Chubbies in the playoffs?

On field 5, Kickin Pitches continued their dominance over the softcore division in giving up only 5 runs to the Ball Busters. Is it time to jump to Midcore to take a swing at the old guard of Chubbies, HMK and Base Gods? Starting to look like it.

In the game of the night though, Hold My Kick took the Base Gods to the limit, and almost to extra innings. The Base Gods didn't want to chance it though, loading the bases with one out. HMK had a chance on a kick down the 1st base line, but just couldn't turn two to extend the game.
