At opening Day of the USL Softball season, Scott Collins came through in the clutch for team Wrecking Crew. In the bottom of the seventh with his team down one run to Hard Ten, Scott came up with two outs and runners on second and third. With a casual confidence about him, Scott belted a double to right center that was deep enough for both runners to stroll home, thus giving the Crew the win. Great job Scott.

Indiana Jones
After returning to the spring league at Greenlake Robert Kampsen of Indiana Jones looked as fresh as the first time he stepped on a diamond. In addition to giving up only four runs to team Hard Ten on the mound, he also aided his cause by adding 8 RBIs. For his first at bat, this greying goose, cracked a line drive to deep right center and hustled his way around the bases for his first home run of the season. But that's not all, at the plate Robert also had two doubles and two singles and was 5 for 5 on the day. Great performance Robert.

On an unexpectedly beautiful Sunday evening at the Greenlake fields, Ruben Foronda led Indiana Jones to an amazing come from behind victory against the Wrecking Crew for the final game of the night. With his team down 14 to 7 in the bottom of the 7th inning, Ruben gathered his team together to motivate them for one final push, his speech worked. The Jones crew mustered 7 more runs and only one out when Ruben came to bat with runners on first and second. Ruben led by example and slapped a laser into left field, easily scoring the runner on second a winning the game. Great job Tony Robbins, I mean Ruben.

With a total of 13 RBIs, 4 home runs, 2 triples, and 3 doubles, Jeff's offensive barrage was unparalleled. However, it was his defensive play at shortstop that really sets Mr. Sebenik above the competition. Great job Jeff.

Lifting her team, the Beer Batters, to an even .500, Cynthia Lorang led her team to victory over team Buckwild. Going 3 for 4 at the plate Cynthia was hotter than a chile pepper in August, still it was her two staggering defensive plays at first base that sealed the game for the Batters. Great work Cynthia.

In the final week of the regular season, Lacie Brooks kept her team, the Chile Peppers, out of the basement with a harrowing performance on both sides of the ball. On offense, Lacie made it to base in every at bat, had 5 RBIs and 3 runs. However, it was her defensive performance with her pink mitt that made the difference in the game. She gobbled up every ball hit in her direction and made some Ichiro-like plays. Great job Lacie.

Ryan led his team to the softcore championship with stellar defense and a bat the size of Cuba, no really, its huge. He had more than four home runs, one of which was a grand slam, almost 20 RBIs and reached base every time he came up to bat. Truly, it was a sight to behold when he was at the plate, but it was his defensive plat that stifled the other teams. Nice work Ryan.
