Perfect Season

They came, they conquered and kicked some serious ass. All season long Notorious D.I.G. brought it, going undefeated while having the time of their lives. This fun loving group were always smiling and cracking jokes with one another, all awhile keeping that competitive drive to win the whole thing.

Running 7 deep tonight, Notorious D.I.G. brought all kinds of flavor to the championship game. The opposition had no answers because there was just too much to take in.
Notorious D.I.G. had a great amount of amazing passers on the team. Jessica C, Jessica B, Chris and Dave lead the charge as showing they can handle any ball that came their way. The two Jessicas also showed great accuracy and flawlessness on the serving line. They can pinpoint any location on the court. Burak was a unbelievable talent that showed amazing elusiveness on the sand. Burak was able to travel through the sand with ease popping the balls up left and right. Dave was always there to bring the power. Skying through the air, Dave sent multiple hits over that were too hot to touch. Nadia and Midori showed a great touch with their sets. They tracked down the ball everytime and made the perfect set.

This was an awesome display of a team that just loved to play with each other. No matter if they won a point or lost a point, they always had one another's back. With a tight knit bond like that, it's no wonder the Notorious D.I.G. never lost a game all season long. Now they have the championship to prove their strength.

Amazing win tonight! It's time to take the hardwood by storm!

The Hard Work Paid Off

The Morning Missiles were hot all season long, boasting a 5-1 record and grabbing the number 2 seed in the league. Throughout the season, Morning Missiles were trying to perfect their craft in order to have a chance at winning this championship. In the semi-finals, the Morning Missiles faced their toughest task of the season edging out Vitamins D's Nuts securing a spot in the championship match against the Cinderella team of the Underdog league, Baby Brontosaurus.

The Baby Brontosaurus' were a completely new team that found their stride at the perfect time. They previously took out the number 1 seed and were looking to do the same to the Morning Missiles. This game was one for the ages as both teams started off going blow for blow with one another.

Ben led the charge as the go to guy at the net. Ben didn't have it easy though as he dealt with the best net defender in the league all night. Ben who is pretty tall himself was being towered over by the defender who also had amazing length. But Ben never gave up and continued to fight hard. He was blocked multiple times but his efforts never dwindled. Tessa displayed the best setting skills in the whole league. Her sets were spot on and gave the Morning Missiles a chance every time to make a play. Matt was the second piece to the 1-2 punch of him and Ben. Because Ben was getting all the attention from the best net defender, Matt had some great opportunities to produce. And produce he did. Matt was sending hard spikes over that could not be touched by the other team. This tandem proved all season long to be the best in the league and they were out to prove it tonight. Tessa played a key role on this team as a valuable passer and constant encourager. After playing a major role in grabbing the victory in the semi-finals, Rachel decided to sit out the finals in order to let her counter-part play. That is where Haley comes in. Haley picked up right where Rachel left off, covering the court like it was no one's business. She even highlighted the night with an amazing diving dig that shot sand in her eyes. After a brief timeout on her part, Haley came right back in to lock down the middle to back of the court.
Morning Missiles were in a slug fest and were growing weary after winning the first set. But when you have a player like Ben, you always have a shot. Tessa began to set Ben more and he delivered. He went angle countless times on the best defender and also made the smart plays of just tipping over his outreached arms. Ben was absolutely killing it now. After a hard fought battle from these 5, the Morning Missiles finally won 26-24, winning the championship.

The Morning Missiles will be at it again when it comes to the hardwood. But the difference is they will be flying higher and hitting harder. Watch out Underdog(ers) because these missiles are coming to a gymnasium near you!
